Default So theres a new guy.. with a HONDA!

Hello Scion Life!

Name is B MAN! I drive a Honda Civic. I signed up because a friend of mine has a tC and im trying to get him to start modifying it! he has a box (and is the reason i bought my very first sub) Well his car got messed with a few times and he's losin hope! I helped him change his oil (u guys are so lucky with the placement of the drain plug), same with his brakes...

Im trying to do research on what springs to get him to get. I lurked around eBay, and found "M2" springs... I have no idea what those are, but im assuming its an eBay brand.

I know im gonna run into a few folks that say "u drive a honda get off our forum"

Well heres pictures of my FA1

Dont let him buy ____ty M2 springs, there are plenty more that are better.

In the suspension section there is a sticky on the types of springs and how low they go, look there.

Welcome

thank you!

idt he needs coil overs, hes trying to stay within a budget... im ready to start paying for his parts though it gives me something to do!

he doesnt want an aggressive drop, just to eliminate wheel gap... he says my car is too low for his liking.. and i wanna go lower

im down with the tC, and if i remember correctly, a little snail and some tuning and u guys are breakin 250 easily right?

ur bro on any forums?... the burgundy civic is probably red... i once got a ticket and the officer wrote red on the ticket, i tried to argue that my car is burgundy... apparently traffic court only has the 8 color crayola set lol

thank you for the warm welcome, im gonna start lurkin' around the forum, hopefully find some cool pictures to inspire him.
Do you guys have a DIY section? cheap DIY's that you can do... basically busy work lol

there's guys pushing about 280 and up on stock block, elevation tc pushed 347 on stock block think it was.

but any car is better then the tc, I would love to get back in a honda if not back In a vdub, but I'm done with payments so the tc will do, good reliable car not much more I can ask for..just always wanting sumthing else compare to this.

yeah there's 2 reds for the SI which is bright red and then a warmer burgundy one. my mother has the burgundy darker red. but cops and insurance only use the 8 color box set lol.

nah my brothers a ricer, no forum for him lol

Welcome! Clean ride and props for trying to help a friend out. If he wants a mild drop don't do anything more than 1.5" drop. He might be fine with the TRD springs or I think tein H techs.

trd springs would be his best bet 1.25" all the way around. Htechs are 1.9" front 1.7" back

^The tC does have its up and down. I had an 00 Audi A4 and I love that car when i'm not paying for the repair bills. One thing I like about my tC is that its cheap to repair and I can do it myself. What I hate is the paint. Really cheap paint on Toyotas part.

Yeah, TRD for a shallow drop with less risk of scraping. The tC has a lot that can be done on the cheap, painting the waterfall dask / gauge trim rings, fabric inserts on the door panels, color matched eyelids for the headlights, vinyl half-wraps instead of paint, saw one guy do a TRD theme, started as a black tC but he did the top in white vinyl with red detail striping, looked very clean, like paint. Where he had to do a seam above the door, he did black and red striping like the TRD logo, looked great.

The TRD supercharger is dirt cheap now as well, though I'm not sure if it works with the 09+.

If he ends up not liking the tC, tell him to trade for a 1gen xB, you may own other cars later but you never sell the 1gen, it's just too good at what it does (huge interior, 30+ MPG on 87 octane, looks like nothing else on the road, but slow with the Echo engine in it until you turbo)

I like civics! I want a new 4dr Si in white so bad. But my next ride will either be RWD or AWD. Im not feeling the Si wheels on a non-Si. I dont mind the grill cause it looks good. But the majority of people know those are Si wheels and it just seems your trying to make your car soemthing its not! Not saying you are just perception is alot!
