Default SoLowTC's Update Thread

So Ive been changing things the last couple of months; interior, engine bay, and accent color. Just thought I would get everyone caught up with how my car is currently looking. Enjoy.

Lets Start off with the exterior of the car; Got tired of the blue and white theme so had to change it up for white and orange. Also went a little lower front and rear for the time being until I can pull some perches.
Still on the SSR SP1's 18x10 all around.

Next up is the engine bay. Matching with the orange accent look of the car I got my valve cover, battery tie down, and radiator stays powder coated in an Orange Stardust color by snail motorsports here in vegas. I went with the Doc Isotope valve cover as well and had that coated gloss white; along with the NRG diversion panel, the mishimoto radiator and the mishimoto fan shroud. If anyone is in Vegas looking to have some powder coating done snail motorsports does a great job with a fast turn around and thousands of color options.

Also to top it off I custom ordered some orange samco sport hoses and had the t-bolt clamps coated in white.

*If your wondering if the mishimoto radiator leaked; it definitely did, about 3 times to be honest. I tried swapping drain plugs and o rings with no prevail. Finally I just went with a Brass 1/4 NPT plug and sealed it with a decent amount of thread tape and haven't had to worry about it since. Its been about a month now with a dry engine bay fingers crossed*

You can't see it in the pictures but I also installed the ptuning motor mount and a ACT HD clutch and fidanza flywheel. I would recommend both the clutch and flywheel; I have 1000 miles on them and they engage and feel amazing. Much better than stock. And able to hold quite a bit more power.

Lastly for this update I wanted to change up the interior to something clean and not too over the top but that complimented the orange accents on the outside and in the engine bay. Following blogs like Canibeat and Stancenation I saw quite a few STI interiors that I liked with one in particular that had his entire dash wrapped in alcantara by a company called JPM coachworks. I got into contact with them and about an hour or so later I had a quote and was ready to start the never ending journey of getting things wrapped in my car. I started off by needing a shift boot for my clazzios. I went with a black alcantara boot with orange stitching. I sent them over my stock boot so they could create a pattern since they hadn't worked with a TC before. I also sent a headrest from my clazzios so they could match the stitching and they got it spot on. Joe over there searched for what seemed like months (in reality 3 weeks) ordering every orange thread he possibly could from his suppliers before he found the match. Everything over there at JPM is done with quality in mind. They want to leave you with a product that is equivalent to OEM if not better. They even measured the spacing of the clazzio seat stitching and followed that through all the pieces I got done. At the time I was only getting the shift boot and the ebrake boot; that quickly changed however; the next thing to do was the armrest which again was met with the same quality and attention to detail as my last pieces. Before I even had my 3 pieces back to me I looked on ebay and found the center console piece for about 20 shipped. I had it shipped to them to see what they could do. Not only could they wrap it in black alcantara but they gave me the option to include the scion logo on our radio doors stitched back in with Orange stitching. This is my favorite part of all the work I had done with them. I was tired of the silver trim ring around the shift boot so I sent it off to them to have it wrapped in orange alcantara which I was skeptical about at first but I like how it contrasts with the black and adds more color accents to my interior. Last thing I had them do was the lower console section so it matched and flowed with the upper. They even wrapped the middle section of the lower that goes all the way back to the cigarette lighter. I received my pieces last week and I have to say everything was plastic wrapped and everything was as good as I could have hoped for. The stitching matched perfectly and the spacing between the stitch was spot on. All the intricate wrapping of the alcantara for the HVAC buttons was carried out flawlessly and everything fit in as easy as the stock pieces. I was a little worried about the added thickness but everything snapped right into place with little to no effort what so ever. The radio door is the only thing that is a little snug but it goes up easily with a one finger lift. So no complaints there.

If your looking to get some custom work done to your interior I would definitely hit up JPM out of Georgia they do some amazing work and the customer service is top notch with a trail of about 75 emails in total from me the longest I had to wait for a reply was 2 hours even on the weekends. So shoutout to JPM for a quality product and quality service. I will be using them to get more pieces wrapped here very shortly.

Also wanna give a shoutout to Sean from LEDMOD for putting up with my countless LED style changes; my final decision was all white everything. Also went with the IS style gauges with center tach conversions. I know in the pictures things tend to look blue but all the lights are white; including map, and both domes. Also he was able to swap out the led's in my polk amps from blue to white. check out LEDMOD.com for any of your scion lighting needs.

Center console was 125 plus 65 for the scion embroidery on the upper.
Little bit expensive but your paying for a quality show like custom job.

no problem

www.JPMcoachworks.com

Shift Boot: $65
Brake Boot: $60
Elbow Rest: $75

They don't have a price list per say but you can look at the items from the vehicles they do have prices for to get a rough estimate. If your looking for something in particular I would suggest you email them to get a formal estimate.

I have seen this tC in person, the work done by JPM Coachworks is phenomenal, I will be using them very soon for some of my interior pieces, a little pricy, but perfection always comes at a cost.

Your welcome; also they should have the template from my boot so no need to send in your stock boot anymore.

you think jpm would do the same for a pillar gauge pod? it would look so nice and actually factory if the pod matched the material already on the stock pillar..
