An old couple (60+) was driving a chevrolet 4x4 pulling a trailer, merged into my lane even though I was honking the whole time. Their trailer scratched and dented the hell outta my driver side door, fender, and broke my mirror.

The stupid part is that this was in a traffic jam and it was stop-n-go. I don't think the tards even knew they hit me. I followed behind them while on the phone with the cops for about 5 minutes and around half a mile.

Cops told me to stop following, so I was gonna pull over to the side. But then the couple in the 4x4 went to the right lane. So I drove next to them while in the emergency lane and told them they hit my car, that I called the cops, and they need to pull the ____ over. They completely ignored me and drove away :/

So now I have a couple questions
1) They had an ontario license plate so I hope they are strict on hitting and running. Anyone know the punishment?
2) Dpes anyone know a temporary mirror solution?

i got hit today at a red light. The car behind me rear ended my dad's camry. the rear panel and side door got damage too. The police got our info and told me the other guy at fault.

 

if you were in cali...the cop would've probably given you a ticket for being on your phone in traffic...anyway, sorry to hear about it...you should follow up with your report though to the police and see what they're doing about it

They probably spoke French and very English and thought you where harassing them or something. You don't have to follow all you need to to call the cops and tell them a license plate number. I wonder how insurance matters are dealt with, with people from another country...

 

Theres an exception to the new law, and that is it. If you're on the phone with emergency services (police, fire, EMS), you cannot get cited.
