something I just found out at the dealership
I went to the dealership to get something done when I asked how long would the trd rear swaybar warranty would last for. He then stated 1 year. I was in shock cause I though it would be warrantied with the car itself, but its seperate. So then I asked how long if I did it myself, he also stated 1 year, but only the part.
So I asked one more question - how would it be warrantied under the car warranty. He stated only if you had it installed when you purchased the car...
Is this all correct?
This is from my blackberry - so please excuase any typos.

any trd sport parts purchased new and installed by a dealership will be covered by the warranty of the car itself.
any trd sport parts purchased new and installed by the consumer or a third party will only be covered for 1 year or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first, and it will only cover the part itself.
but a sway bar really isn't something to worry about as far as warranty.

I asked them same question about the TRD intake. Here is what they told me.
If bought with the car the part is included with the new vehicle 32k mile warranty.
If bought and installed by the dealership/you there is a one year warranty on just the part.
So if you didn't get the part when you originally bought the car it only has a one year warranty and if anything breaks because of it you are ____ed. Only the part is warrantied.

you aren't paying attention guys. there are two catagories for trd accessories. sport parts, and off-road/racing parts.
trd sport parts are the suspension, exhaust, supercharger, clutch, brake pads rear sway bar, lsd. if purchased brand new (does not have to be from YOUR dealership, like if you get it online from trdsparks.com or mcgeorgeparts.com where ever, if it is brand new in box factory sealed and whatever with a receipt of purchase, it is fine.
now, if you or a third party install it, it as a 1 year/12k warranty on the part only.
if you dealership installs it, it joins with the correlating warranty of the car. i.e. the supercharger and LSD are now 100% covered under your 5 year/60k mile warranty. this includes the parts, related parts or problems due to improper installation. this is void however if you modify it like change the pulley on the supercharger.
the cold air intake is an off-road racing part because 1. it isn't carb legal (05-07), and you can hydrolock your car if you suck water into durring inclement weather conditions. so that has a coverage against manufaturer defect on the part only.
you gotta pay attention and read the fine print yourself. your salemen at the dealership don't really know crap.

Ok, this is straight from our Toyota Warranty Handbook, just to get things clarified for sure:
"TRD parts, when installed by a U.S. Toyota dealer are warranted for 12months, regardless of mileage, from the date of installation on the vehicle, OR the remainder of the applicable New Vehicle Limited Warranty, whichever provides greater coverage.
Dealer-installed TRD supercharger systems are warranted under the powertrain warranty. Additionally, dealer-installed shocks and struts are warranted under the limited lifetime warranty as long as the original purchasing customer owns the vehicle. The limited lifetime extension covers replacement parts only (no labor) and requires the submission of a copy of the original Repair order as the original purchaser verification."
For accessories (non TRD), "purchased at time of the new vehicle purchase...coverage is 3 years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. (same as the New Vehicle Limited warranty). For accessories purchased after the new vehicle purchase the coverage is 12months, regardless of mileage, or the remainder of any applicable New Vehicle Limited warranty, whichever provides greater coverage. "
