Default soooooooooooooo ____ed

so about 20 min ago im driving me and my cousin home from a restaurant. I'm going across a highway when all the sudden my car bottoms out, we go airborne, and come slamming back down. Apparently when they were doing road work they had a slight miscalculation of about 4". So now my s-pipe is dented, my subframe is scraped, and my front lip has spider cracks alllll around the whole thing. Is there any way i can buff those out? or do i have to get it repainted?

TRD. I looked at it and it was fine. I even gave it a little handling test and it was beautiful still.

I'll take a look at it tomororw. I'm just ____ed about my front lip right now. I just put that on a few months ago. I'm gonna try to sand down the clearcoat and if that doesn't work ima have to spend another 150 repainting the lip....over some stupid ____ that the construction workers did... and who's gonna pay for it? me!..... oo i hate society.

yea I'd try to sand it down and fix it urself. worst comes to worse you'll have to repaint it which is one of the options. might aswell try and fix it.

like if u pull ur nail across the lip can you feel the cracks on ur nail.

like if you touch your lip with ur nail as if u wanna scratch it, and pull your nail across it, does your nail catch onto the cracks as in you can feel them? or no.

^^ I edited the post and i think he read my post before the edit came up. not his fault.

call the city on it, they are suppose to warn drivers about that stuff hence all the "bump" and "dip"signs!! same thing goes for when your car get damaged from a pot hole. Call and ask because it's their fault if they did not put signs up warning drivers about it.

Yeah, this happened to me before but it was on the highway and they didn't do ____. But I'm going to check tomorrow to see if my nail catches. If so how much do you think it would cost to redo the lip? cause i know they have to re-prep it.

^^ idk how much it would cost. but if ur nail doesn't catch, I think you could prolly just buff it out.

only if it's a 13B. but hell. ____ happens right? me and my cousin are ok. when i was airborne i was like "wtf?" and when i came back down it kinda reminded me of like grand theft auto where you drive then glitch the game and you end up in the air for some strange reason....hell i still have to get the rest of my lip kit painted. so i might as well bring this in too, am i right?

lol. Yea but its kind of an inconvience. Plus u'd have to pay extra for the front lip. if u can buff it out, i say why not.

If you have spider cracks it generally means you'll have to get it repainted. Do you have pictures of the cracks? You might be able to get away with getting it touched up/blended in.

Yes, they'll have to re-prep it. But to be honest 9 out of 10 times when body shops do the re-prepping, it just consists of lightly sounding down with 600 - 1000 grit to remove the clear, wash down the residue, dry it and lightly spray maybe 1 or 2 shots of primer or adhesion promoter in any areas where sanding might have burnt through the paint. From there they re-shoot the paint (3 wet coats), followed by clear (3 wet coats), allow it to dry, lightly sand down some...not all of the orange peel, buff, and they're done.

Thanks Hans!
