Default Spec tC and tC?

Sorry I havent been around in a while...on any car sight...but im back into search mode....but is there a 07 difference now? Because for some reason on Edmunds there is a Spec tC and a Base tC , the Spec is like 15k...and the Base is like 17k or so....whats up with that? Thanks...

I only asking cuz im considering buying a new tC because those lil 2.4L engines are powerful on 7psi....too quick haha thanks!!!

Why would they do that ? Sales not so good now? They want to offer a cheaper model? IT perform the same? Might as well save some money towards the turbocharger for it if I get one....

Can someone tell me, cuz im lazy....haha. the TRD suspension n lower springs GOOD? or ok... ? not good? haha

the tuner concept, now called tC spec, is intended for the tuners who are going to add or change most of the things in the car anyway, and scion is selling this cheaper model for that.

things like steelies, because they're gonna replace them with rims anyway, no engine immobilizer, because they're going to add a better aftermarket alarm anyway... etc.

and fyi, sales are insane and good.

and also the '07 has a bit of changes that don't allow certain aftermarket performance parts to fit anymore. (i.e. headers, intake, the TRD s/c being a big one, etc..)

Alright, I appreciate it, I didnt plan on supercharging it...more like turocharging...so the Spec starts at what? 15k some? That saves 1500 or so....not bad...I really want a car I can push on stock internals and hit around 240whp which this can....I think it can easily be done with turbo, emanager, so forth so on...been a while since I looked into the tC....

my friend boosted one...but he ____e dit up...pushin 11psi for a few weeks or month or so....pfff...blew engine up, rebuilt it, has a mist in it...tryin to sell it for 19k, NO WAY....

tCs are QUICK with just a turbo, which was a big surprisehaha

Im guessin the wheels are still 5 bolts, or possibly 4? Cuz if hey are 4...i can keep my ones and use them...save some money plus make it look nice

still savin like 1400 for those wheels even...decent 17s for 900 or os, 500 left for...twm shifter, and maybe exhaust, haha

The SC is kinda a downer, at ...8psi if it did...220whp and 200wtq i would consider gettin the tc base and supercharging it factory....save my own time, plus under warranty, has to be quick....

Anyone have SC, Better than stock intake( I saw one better than the stock SC one...) headers and exhaust?

Uh, yeah dude. The SC is SLIGHTLY better than a header, intake, and exhaust.

HP isn't everything, you know, and from what I've heard, the SC tC's are coming back with a LOT of power.

Yeah... Don't get the tC. Try a Civic instead. PLENTY of aftermarket parts available.

Nah, I dont like civics that much...are they goin to keep the same formula with the new SC? Or give it a lil more umph for the Spec tC? IF anything I would SC my tC, warranty, not as much work for me also...more easing to my mind

I did some research on my vin# and this showed up its confusing the hell out of me can someone possibly explain this to me?

  • Year: 2008
  • Make: Scion
  • Style / Body: Hatchback 2D
  • Engine: 2.4L I4 EFI
  • Country of Assembly: Japan
It is the Model that is getting me so is it a spec or base? I am still new to the scion world I just bought this car on October 14, 2011 from a dealership. They are not any help on this; so i figured I would ask people who actually know their rides

the biggest downer about the spec tc is the fixed glass roof. i love opening the moon roof and windows to listen to my car roar.

^^well no tc has a sunroof that opens in the back at least the glass part. If yours opens then it is a base model. The spec models have a fixed glass roof like drax said.
