Speeding ticket
I'm not saying I did or didn't do it because I honestly did not notice and was coasting down a hill. The cop said I was doing 62 in a 45 and on my ticket he put "did not obey traffic control device. I am not sure what that even means actually. There is no speed I was going. Well its not expensive I guess 108 dollars and no points, just wondering if i should pay it (like im thinking of doing) or what. I don't see how people plead not guilty when they were probably obviously doing the act they were caught in. Only thing i said was i didn't know how fast i was going because i didn't. any advice? I guess i vote pay it for myself.
You got lucky. "Failure to obey a traffic control device" is a kind of umbrella ticket which cops can use to give the driver a break if they are in a good mood. This ticket can be issued for practically anything. It just means you did not obey some type of traffic control device, which could be a signal, a speed limit sign, a railroad crossing, a yield sign, a no u-turn sign, and many many more.
If the cop had given you a speeding ticket for going as fast as you were, then you would end up having a couple of points on your license. He gave you a break by reducing the offense to simply failing to obey a traffic control device. This infraction comes with no points and just a minor fine. You admit that you were speeding and the cop did you a favor, so it would be wise to pay the ticket and move on.

I'm not entirely familiar with how that works in PA. Maybe someone else can help. Are you eligible to take traffic school? If this happened to me in CA, I can tell you that I would pay the fine, I would complete online traffic school (takes a couple of hours) and the ticket would be erased from my record with no impact on my insurance.
I did some reading online and I still don't really know, but it sounds like a single minor infraction with no points will not affect your insurance in any way. I think your best bet would be to call your insurance company and ask them just to be sure.
in NY u dont get points till u actually plead guilty, by paying the ticket ur pleading guilty i was caught doin 75 on a 55 and i had to pay 175 and i got 4 points on my license, so who knows if ur gonna get points but usually insurance never goes up

1. Always ask (in a VERY NICE way) the copper to see the readout! (To make sure you were actually speeding.)
2. Just pay it (and maybe traffic school?) and be thankful it's only $108. As long as you don't get anymore tickets for 18 months, it shouldn't appear on your records.
3. TELL YOUR PARENTS!!
