Care to go into more detail about your experiences with the sponsorship?

I appreciate everyones input. I would like to hear the hardships from the people who actually HAVE been sponsored before. It's not that I need a sponsorship (I'm not a teenager making minimum wage at McDonalds or something), but FREE is my favorite 4 letter word.

This isnt the way it always works either. Sponcership takes time no matter how u go about it.

When I originally bought my Eclipse back in 97 it was a hot and upcoming car. I put together a packet with my plans for the car, drawings of how i wanted the car to look, other companies I wanted to work with, and shows I planned to attend in the next 2 years. I sent this packet to 14 Companies. After a long 6 month span of emails, letter, and talking to reps, I ended up with 5 of the companes willing to back me and my car under alot of conditions. Worth it? Well it was once the parts started coming in. But I dont think as a small time guy ill ever go threw it that way.

Now the other route u mentioned. We was able to get a few companies by buying items and then getting with the companies. Case in point, on my wives cavalier we had audiobahn equipment and Sparco Speed seats with a bomex body kit on it and a few other items on the car. We sent pics in on the car and equipment from numerous shows and in the end Sparco Sent up the new Torino 2 Seats and Audiobahn sent up all new equipment, but we had to pay to have it installed. This way I prefer, because u are leaving it in the companies hands to weither ur car is worthy of Sponcership instead of almost having to beg for it.

Nothing Cash at all. They had like 6-7 companies they where "sponcered" threw. But when you ordered from the company u would get like 5 percent off and then that amount would get deducted from your 12 grand total u started with. So in the end all the sponcership ends up being is discounts to companies. And you have to pay 80 down to get that.

i dont ever do this.... but f-in christ man the word is spelled correctly in the title and every other post......... I hate being an English major.
Get over yourself, please. Thank you very much. He didnt ask for a spelling lesson he asked for peoples experiences. Not much of an English major when you left out all punctuation. Try to not ever do it again.....

hey guys.

I've heard people sham on carsponsorships.com and all the other websites that require that you pay them an initial fee...do a search, and you'll find a lot of threads on scionlife.

BUT...I went to a local car show this last weekend and saw this civic w/ lambo doors...and that got me thinking...I WANT LAMBO DOORS! Of course he had a dot-com sticker for his kit...so I went home and went to the website to see about how much it costs to buy the kit...On their website they had a sponsorship page, on that page it said that they do sponsor cars, but you have to go through carsponsorship.com.

Maybe carsponsorship is legit?

I deal with them.

Right away after you pay the $89 or whatever it is now, you get $625 decal sponsorship from www.decalkits.com and you'll get a quasi-sponsorship (discounts) from House of Boom.

I personally never actually used any of it, but I could have. They give you vouchers to use, and you don't pay for shipping either.

You may or you may not get other sponsorships. I didn't get any, but I also didn't look into it after I signed up. However, they have more companies now then they did when I first joined over a year ago.

I think I will resign later, and keep up with it and try to get more sponsorships.

I played gunnea pig for my club and signed up too.
I was offerred 5 different "sponsorships". All any of them were were slight discounts. And most of the prices they gave you could be had on eBay. I could sit here and say they gave me all this stuff and encourage people to sign up, I would get paid to do that. But I don't support stuff I don't believe in, and I believe carsponsorships.com is rip-off.

you signed up at www.carsponsorships.com and got all those offers right away?! Lucky you!

I'm not encouraging one way or another, I'm just stating the facts. That's what happened for me.

It's a risk. There's nothing saying you're gonna great sponsorships, but you might. It's your choice. If you think $625 worth of decals for $89 is worth it, then go for it...

sure...alrite my xB is literally the 4th showcar car of my own that i have built for shows. Ive been involved w/ many other cars also, but for my own car its the 4th. This car by far ive invested the most time into marketing and what not. All my previous cars were funded by my own wallet, built how i want. No compromises in brands or anything. This time around it iddnt happen for my scion but I HAVE invested a good amount of money into my car. Before i started getting sponsers for a lot of my stuff, I already had a show winning car (not being boastful just stating facts). Now w/ that said, It's kinda like proving grounds to these companies. I've shown them i built my own car, so now they have kicked down free product for me to replace the parts i've paid for. The parts that i've paid for ive since sold off for practically what i paid for it as i am in the automotive aftermarket industry as well, so i get certain things for extremely cheap. So now some of my car has sponsered product on there and i've done it w/o compromising the build of my car. You might wonder what that means. I'm still running certain brands that i love and the stuff that i have been sponsered w/ is also quality product. ie. i wont ditch a nice set of work wheels for some tenzo r's, sport max, etcetc etc not knocking people who have them, but i mean cmon if u have work why go backwards? i hope any of the insight helps, if anything try for partial sponsorships yourself. I mean its not hard talking to companies, i do it all the time and if they see you really have the determination, they will take interest.
