They are the same! The cheaper the better so Doc-I's ultimate with everything! (much cheaper than the TWM that gives you just a metal rod)

Oh, and Doc I's are actually Toyota shifters made shorter and you get a rebate if you send the long OE one back to him to be another STS.

I love my GearSwitcher. You definitely want to get the cable bushings too. I installed them a couple weeks after I installed the short shifter and it made a huge improvement. No more mush when shifting...just nice precise smooth shifts. Can't be happier.

I just wish I got it even lower, I went with 1.5"...I'm 5'10" and I think I would have liked 2.0" or 2.5" a little more. At any rate, I'm quite happy

If you buy it with the base, you'll save yourself some time. For me, the hardest part was getting a god damn clip on and off that holds the shift cable to the shifter. You'll still have to deal with it no matter what you do.

 

the best thing about Doc's is that you can get an actual short shifter, unlike the TWM whic is a shorter shifter, i personally like leverage on my shifters, and i feel the tC shifter at stock is the perfect height, hence why i would choose doc over all becuase you can keep the stock height, or raise it if you want.

and considering he DIY's EVERY SINGLE THING all by himself? yeah... he works alot on this Scion stuff.

it gets backed up.. but he works day and night to get orders through.

I know the feeling squall It is hard to keep up with work, family, scion mods, etc sometimes, so we all get backed up.

Someone mentioned having to deal with the shift cables no matter what, which isnt entirely true. If you are not replacing the base, there really isnt any reason to remove the shift cables from it completely. I did the entire swap and never took the base out of the car, took about 45 minutes, but that was with letting my son take a lot of the console apart for me. It really isnt a hard job to do.

Yeah I guess you don't have to remove the base just to replace the shift rod...I just thought you had to as it makes it a hell of a lot easier...or atleast I imagine. Working in your ca vs working on a table
