Default steeringwheel question

I have a very important question I'm hoping someone can please answer. I recently had my steering wheel reupholstered in leather, it looks sick. Problem is I have an 05 and the guy used an 06 wheel, with the audio controls. Is there any way I can still make this work? Will the plugs be the same, etc? Can I just pop off those audio controls and put my airbag where the 06 airbag goes? Please tell me someone knows the answer to this, I'm desperate! Btw, I'll include some pics later on when I get home.

I have a 2005 and my fiance has a 2006.
I just went out and measured and both of the steering wheels. Both measure 2" from the edge of the leather to the edge of the steering wheel on the horizontal spokes.
I predict that you can remove the audio controls and put your air bag in. I changed mine to the grey/black leather one Scion offers. There is no difference between 05 and 06 once you get beyond the airbag. Both screw to the back of the steering wheel at the same point.

In short, I am nearly 100% certain you can make it work by removing the audio control pieces.

Hey Everyone Decided to bring this back to life instead of creating a new tread:

My question is as follow:

I have a 2005 TC and I want steering weel controls...If I buy something like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2006-...Q5fAccessories

would my 2005 airbag fit or what do I need to do to make it fit?

If the airbag fits, where can I get a 2006 steering wheel cover?

Does the 2005 TC come with the connections to install the steering wheel controls?

or should I just crash my car into a wall and get an 06+

Thanks!

ultimate question is, if I can get my hands on a full 2006+ steering wheel with airbags and all, does my 2005 TC come with pre-connections for the steering wheel controls or do I need a special adaptor?

by the way sorry but I have a Pioneer Premium F90BT headunit!

Thanks!
