Default Stupid dealer!! Can they do this??

ok, so I went to Scion of Huntington Beach today to see if they have any tC's in stock and to take a look at them. I asked the sales guy if they had any in stock. he said "we dont have any in stock right now, but we should be getting some in next week" then he asked what i was looking for. i said "a silver streak mica 5 spd and the only option i want are the floor mats". Then he told me the ones that are coming in all have 6 disc cd and 18" wheels. im like well what if I dont want those, can you take them out?? or at least order me a different one? He said no were not taking any more orders! Then he said there is a high demand for them right now and theyre loading them up with options and selling those. can they do that?? all im asking for is the base model with floor mats!

Dealers can make more money the more options they put on them. since, you can't haggle on the price they can bring them in loaded up and not budge on the price. I would order one with your option and just wait for it to come in.

They are taking orders, if he wont then go to another dealer. Dealers like to get the ones they already have off of the lot before they order new ones. If you dont like the ones he has then order one that you want.

Fo sure, go to another dealer. I had one flat out lie to be
about how much the Moon Roof was going to cost. He said
"we all charge the same amount". I responded with "yeah,
but some pad the labor cost more then others"

Go somewhere else, they're trying the same old tactics, Scion is supposed to be different. Luckily, there's probably a lot of dealers near you, check out the dealer review section and maybe check the Pacific South forum for recommendations.

Don't listen to the salesman, he just wants to make more money off you. I didn't even get a single option on mine . Just go to another dealer, I'm sure you can post it on the forum here and someone will talk to you. Most of the dealers are on this board.

LOOK theres only about six hundred dollars profit in these cars but you can order it the way you want it or just go to longo scion they will have any style you want or need they are the largest dont settle and it's not that the salesman wants to make more money , It's just that dealer orders them that way so go elsewhere. good luck!

Yeah what he said

I had to go to another dealer pretty much for the same thing. I live near columbia,sc and I looked up scion dealers near my parents got them to deliver one to me it only took them a week to get it, put the options on, and get it to me.

simple solution.

go to glendora or glendale.

ask for oliver at glendora or matt at glendale.

they'll treat you right.

dont put up with this sort of bs from these money/power hungry dealers. they really spoil the joy of buying a scion.

Scion of Norwalk is good, too..but there is a waiting period of ~ 6 weeks for manual tranny... I was lucky with mine - only waited for 2 and all I had to buy in options was a custom leather/suede inter. which I LOVE anyway!!

BUT, according to Norwalk, per Scion, dealers are supposed to be limited to ~ $1k in "on lot" options...unless by the buyers request., and that is it!! Some are still trying to get away with it, but I think it will end pretty soon. Carson Scion was REALLY bad - there tC's started at $23k!!! If your patient, order it from another dealership - I haven't heard anything about orders being stopped.
