Default stupid parking blocks

you guys know those big slabs of cement that are used as parking blocks? they have the two metal rods on each of them to keep them stuck in the ground....the other night i was pulling into a parking lot and one of the rods had not been cut and it was leaning forward, well that stupid ___ rod put a hole in the bottom of my tc...wtf???? it was dark so i couldn't see it and all i heard was the noise. i'll pictures up soon hopefully...i wonder if my warranty covers this...just had to vent some of my anger.

Wow... put a hole in the bumper?

You have to be careful around those things... I saw a chick at my school pull into her spot one time not realizing the block was shoved off it's spikes, leaving one spike exposed and sticking up out of the ground. This really isn't a problem but she was on the phone and pulled in wayyyy too far, onto the spike... when all the sudden "pffffffffffff" as the front driver tire flattened and she went down about 5 inches. She didnt even know what happened... she was just sitting there looking around. I felt a little bad, but then I realized she was a poor driver and I was glad she hit that and not me.

yea that actually might work, if you can show that the parking block is clearly a hazard because of the spike, and you didnt just pull forward too far. or if its private, try the owner of the lot.

If you do go to the city, make sure you document, document, document. Take multiple pictures of what caused the damage, and what damage was done.

i've had customers get cities to pay for full sets of wheels and tiers after hitting potholes, plates, dead bodeis. and anything else in the road and for the most part they were successful. just doccument doccument. and lots of pictures.. and it never hurts to try

And don't pull so far up in the future. That's not a wheel stop...

That's for sure! Either that, or buy a SUV!

BTW, for those who are suggesting that "the city" pay for the damage, where do you think "the city" gets their money? We all end up paying for this stuff, and for the additional drones needed to handle the money along the way.

I actually got stuck on one of those things once it was crazy.

I was driving my alero and apparently it has a whole in the chassis near the front. I did not pull up to the concrete block (I knew the metal pole was up there) but my car rolled forward. I did not think twice about it until I got off work 9 hours later. Went to go in reverse and WHAM, my car was actually stuck on the freakin pole, it had gone up into the whole in the chassis.

No big deal once I figured out what happened, I thought the transmission had dropped out of the thing, I just had a guy lift up on the front of my car while I backed up, it was nuts.

Ah, but are you an _additional_ drone?

Well before I drove OVER that block, but not in my xB.
At least someone didn't pour coffee and smeared it all over your paint.
Happened to me last night, wtf?

One time I saw a car roll over a "stump" from a broken sign in the parking lot... cut right through the tire.
