Default stupid people= dent and scratch in door

I attended a wedding this last weekend leaving my car parked at the motel and coming back to find a nice dent and scratch on my driver side door. Well it turns out that these little kids were playing around my car and opening their parents car door into my car. I'm just glad to have caught them in the act while they were still doing this and getting some insurance information for a claim . Sorry had to vent

Feel for you. It never amazes me when I hear these type of things. Did the parents at least say they were sorry? Glad you got the ins. info.

ooohhh... Those kids would not have lived to see another day!!! j/k. I get so upset sometimes that my neck turns red...and it doesn't help that I already have high blood pressure...it's like my blood boils!!! You are lucky to have caught them in the act, because most of us are unfortunate enough to just find a nice dent in our cars without any hint as to who did it. Our loss. Hopefully you can get it fixed fast. Poor tC...

If it makes you feel any better, I got a little scratch on the very bottom of my front bumper. I was pulling into a parking lot that had a little incline, but at the top of the incline it had a ____in small dip. It scratched very slightly and you can't see it unless you stand really far away or go up close and look under the bumper a little bit. Gah, my fault it happened, but..."poor tC"...

That really sucks. Don't people know that you don't mess with a person's automobile? You just don't do it! Today, when I was parking on the street, the car in front of me had parked his car with the front end touching the car in front of him so that he wouldn't be in the red zone. He basically rear ended the car in front of him so that he wouldn't get a parking ticket. WTF???

Hey thanks for all the pity replys and I did manage to get the claim to follow through, thanks to my wife taking care of all the stuff. Kinda of nice when you have a significant other working in the insurance industry. But for the most part I wish people would have more respect for other's property you know.

:? okay I just got a nice estimate and this sounds pretty scary. Toyota collision center
gave me an adjusted amount to repair a small door dent with a repaint total of $824 dollars. Even though I'm not paying for this and the people at fault insurance is, I'm just wondering if this sounds right to you guys. I will post pics if you guys want to see, but someone give me clue to do this, I tried a search on posting pics but found nothing

i'd like to see the pics... the high cost may be due to it being a new car, but repaint jobs are freakin' expensive to begin with. what did your wife have to say about it?

those parents must be putting dents in their kid's ___ right now, i can tell you that.
