he's just blowing smoke to get you to spend more money...

it's not necessary... the stock roof is already about 20%

yea, it's not a big deal. I mean, I think it could be worth it to tint (a lot of sun does come through... even with the shade closed, there's still quite a bit of heat) - but I never did it.

It's totally up to you, but don't let him BS you into thinking you NEED it. If it shatters, its tempered glass anyway so its not a big deal

It'll shatter if you do a barrel roll and land on your roof... otherwise you'll be fine. I wouldn't tint it. I just had my tC tinted and my 15% all around looks awesome with the tinted glass roof. Don't hit bumps and potholes doing 85mph and you'll be fine.

i have thought about it this way:

if you get your windows tinted darker than about 20% you should do the roof as well, because the sun light that is makin it into your car thru the roof will make the tint SEEM lighter

i have 5% and it didnt seem like 5% until i got the roof done as well...

So wait, he says that if you go over a bad bump that it will shatter? That's dumb as sh*t man, why would they design a car whose roof broke on bumps, lol.

It might be that he's trying to say the extra darkness of the sunroof will attract more radiant heat from the sunlight, perhaps making the sunroof more prone to cracking/shattering.

My dad own's a window tinting business and when I worked for him we tinted hundreds of sunroof's and we've never heard of anything like that happening. The only thing I wouldn't recommend is keeping the shade's closed. Double panned class shouldn't be tinted because heat builds up between the glasses and that could cause it to crack/shatter, and I'm not sure if the space between the shade's and the sunroofs would have the same effect.

Default tinted sunroof

I am going to get my sunroof tinted...I've been wanting to do it..just never got around to it. the only reason i'm doing it is because i usually have the roof vented and that tint on the glass is to damn light...to much sunlight gets in and it ends up burning the top of my head..haha. I'd prefer to have it tinted darker so that less sunlight gets through and it helps reflect some of the UV rays back out. i say go for it man!

Never seen any pics of the sunroof tinted, always thought it was dark to begin with, I would like to see it though, hope to see pics.
