stock for stock a cavy or sunfire would beat a tC with 20 less hp. they just have a bad rap. the ecotec engine OWNS. its what is in the cobalt and redline but destroked forged everythign and SC also what is in the drag sunfire whcih is always #1 every race.

Sorry to say this...
Please don't make your tC look like a Tiburon or Cavalier...
If you need bodykit for tC, just wait because TRF will bring out something nice once we are done with our xB project.

From ModernRacer.com...

0-¼ mile : 16.2 sec @ 85.0 mph
60-0 braking distance : 130 ft
200 ft skidpad : 0.80 g
2005 Scion tC - 160hp Camry motor

0-60 mph : 7.5 sec.
0-¼ mile : 15.7 sec @ 88 mph

200 ft skidpad : 0.81 g
So, not only does it win the race (stock for stock) but it turns and stops better, too. (FYI, the Cavalier is 156 pounds lighter than the tC.)
2200fire, if you love the Tibs and Cavs and Sunfires so much, what are you doing hanging around here?
What is really funny, at the tint shop today, you should have heard the guy going on about how we should go with a big bulky kit on the tc if they come out with one, some nasty side skirts that come half way up the side of the Tc, and a big ___ wing off the back, all I could do is laugh!!!
I am very well aware that the Cavalier in Japan is a Toyota. This is my third project car. I have been to the tracks and seen what the Cavaliers do with the GM supercharger, so please don't try and fool me. They also put down very poor numbers on the dyno from what I have seen in person. I always say....."You can't polish a turd."
those numbers are A) high elevation B) AUTO C) bad driver
First of all, I used to own a sunfire. and have been a member for years of one of the biggest car forums on the net j-body.org
so let me just clarify some things here that are FACT from first hand experience.
the following numbers are from actual scanned in timeslips from tracks or from my own eyes seeing the times flashed up on the board at the track. these #'s are %100 true.
stock eco cav/sunfire= 15.4 5 spd manual
stock eco cav/sunfire= 16.5 4spd auto
stock 2.2 cav/fire= 17.7 3spd auto
there are also 3 other engines that were in these cars.
2.4 = 150hp/155tq
2200sfi= 115/135
2.2= 120/130
the 2.4 is about the same speeds as the eco
the 2200 and the 2.2 are absolutely horrible even in a 5spd ur trying hard to get a 16.8 numbers range from 16.8 to 18.5
they dont put out good numbers on dynos? you MUST be talking about 2.2's and 2200's because 2.4's and ecos are VERY effecient and put down great number for the kind of engine it is. like i said before a stock eco=140hp 150tq at the fly runs 15.4 for a fact ive seen it. maybe your at a higher elavation. im at 86 ft.
the GM charger pushing 2.4's to 190+hp on 4.5psi- wanna know what they run in 1/4?for a fact when a 2.4 is blown, mid to low 14's. with my own eyes ive seen 14.8 with SC plus bolt ons. would be pushign around 205 hp
theres a guy with a turbo ECO running 13.7!!!!!! 234 whp. check out his site.
http://www.turboecotec.com/
there are numorous other cavs on JBO that are running mid to low 13's and tons running mid to low 14's and TONS that are stock running mid 15's which according to you guys isnt possible
go there and do a registry search and search for supercharger and youll see tons of profiles with timeslips of people who run the times i have stated
so noone please try educating me on the speeds/ratings/ or anything else regarding j-bodies. :D
if i like tibs and cavs so much why am i here??? well thats because I LOVE THE tC why else ;) and because it is my new car :D interior quality and functionality of the tC is 1 million times better than a j-body. and overall a much better deal. i was just sharring my knowledge from years of experience with the j-body
no reason for ANYONE to get defensive because there is 2 other cars that are faster than a tC stock for the same price or lower. its just fact. wasnt tryign to make anyone "upset"

I don't really care how the Cavalier or Sunfire (or Tiburon, or SRT-4 for that matter)perform, as I would never drive any of them. And I surely wouldn't dress up my tC to look like a riced-out Cavalier.
That's what im saying JasonH. You can put up all the numbers you want but in real life it doesn't matter. We have all had someone in a cavalier trying to race you. As a matter of fact the only time I remember a Cavalier keeping up was when I was riding my Huffy and that was only because it didn't shift into 10th gear right.
^lol didnt shift into 10th gear right, made me laugh out loud.
you guys are crazy... should have never turned into an argument like this. i was just stating the REAL numbers of CAVS. because i have first hand knowledge of them.
but no matter if a Cav or tib can beat a tC- I STILL LIKE THE tC TONS AND TONS MORE> and thats why im here :D
