Default tC is bulbous and awkward looking from certain angles

I think the tC is a really beautiful from certain angles, but from certain angles at the side and rear, it looks bulbous. I've figured out why it looks bulbous, it's the way the rear hatch glass kind of bows outward, in a convex shape. When seen from a side view, low to the ground where the glass cannot be seen, the tC has a nice, slopping curve to the roofline, and looks clean and sleek. If taken from a higher angle, and slightly to the rear, it looks fat and bulbous. I'll see if I can find pictures to demonstrate.

Unclean:

Damn it's tough finding non clean pictures of this car, I need some really stock pictures to emphasize just how non clean a tC can look from certain angles, most members are smart enough to only take pictures of their car in the flattering angles. But I think you guys get the point. I am kind of hoping that a very flat pane of glass the back hatch will be released, although I know glass is expensive and not really an aftermarket accessory. It just really bugs me how the glass pane f's up the smooth lines of the car and bows out. At night the car always looks so much better, because the glass blends in with the background and only the sleek lines of my superwhite are visible. If I ever get a digital camera I'll take better pictures on my own car to demonstrate. Anyway, does anyone have a clue wtf I'm talking about?

Yah know. A flat plane of glass for the hatch would be hideous. I think the car looks great from all angles as well. To each is own i guess.

Not perfectly flat, but just not a huge round thing coming out of the back of the car...it's supposed to sweep, not look like a big semicircle sitting on top of the frame, it makes the car look like a VW beetle or an audi tt from certain angles. Both of those cars are horrible looking. I prefer the sweeping curves of a g35 coupe.

a g35 coupe is also almost twice the price on a tc tho. you can't expect the tc to have curves like a g35. just don't look at your car the wrong way and it will look fine.

Lol dude how am I supposed to not look at it, if I'm walking up diagonally from behind it I'm gonna notice it, I can't like sheild my eyes and stumble blindly towards my car, probably getting run over in the process. Anyway, a cars overall lines can be nice without being expensive. Contrarily, an expensive cars lines can be ugly as ____. Anyway, I think the tC has beautiful lines which definetly rival the g35, but that ugly convex pane of glass in the back ruins them from some angles. The C pillar on the tC goes straight back, it doesnt bow out, so why should the glass? the glass should follow the shape of the c pillar.

I think some of you are confused, and thinking I want a back pane of glass like the del sol, which is flat and goes straight down. Holy ____ that's definetly not what I want, I just don't like how the glass on the hatch of the tc is curved on the horizontal axis. It should go straight across, but instead it is curved outwards, which effs up the nice sweeping lines of the c pillar.

When I look at the car directly from the side, I should not see any of the glass from the rear hatch, instead I see like 6 inches of glass bulging out from behind the c pillar. Ugly.

buy a car that looks good at every angle then. When I had my Z I HATED dead on straight back view. I learned to deal w/ it.

Man I'm just the opposite, I originally wanted the Z, but kinda got stuck with the tC. I like the tC's looks and I really love my car, but I def had my eye on a 350z for months. In the end it was too expensive and my parents weren't really down with me getting it, so I had to settle for the tC. Not a bad second option if you ask me. Man I would kill for a g35 coupe though....

I think it looks good from every angle too.

A little more generic and conservatively styled for the "Scion sports car" but handsome just the same.

I think it would make more sense as a Toyota. Why would the "edgy young brand" have a sporty car that is more conservatively styled than the Toyota Celica?

What they were thinking confuses me and I was a bit disappointed they weren't alot more adventurous with the design, but it's definitely attractive.

No one really wants some whacky ugly looking sports coupe. What they were thinking, was to produce a nice looking, fairly basic sports coupe with a lot of options and a cheap price tag. They were aiming for a highly customizeable car which could appear to the tuner market. A blank canvas so to speak. The really excentric stuff could come from the hands of creative modders, and I think based on the body kits and tC show cars that we're already seeing, there is gonna be some really crazy stuff coming down the pipeline soon. I think the xB and xA , but xB especially are just too far out there. They just don't appeal to the mass market that the tC does.

Ok...so the flow of the rear glass is just following the flow on the roof. It's slightly curved up there....IMO if it suddenly became flat, that would stick out pretty bad.

OK, I'll be the only one.

I understand what you're saying and agree. That must be why, from some angles I find the rear of the tC "frumpy".

But, because you called xB's "too far out there", I'll have to say from EVERY angle the tc is boring, just from some it's boring AND repulsive.

bwahahaha. J/K.

Head Room for the rear passengers, so when you shut your hatch their heads aren't sticking through the glass looking around. The rear seats have little head room and a flat pane wouldn't help things. Everything has a reason behind it.

If my tC was a girl, I'd hit it AND bring her to meet my parents.
