I ordered a Silver/Auto a long 9 weeks ago, my dealer John left a message said on monday "your car is here, you can pick it up" Although I did not order an alarm system, when I got there he changed his story and said "Someone else cancelled their order and a Silver/Auto with an alarm is available", I told him I didn't order an alarm and I'll wait for "My" car.

It doesn't take a genious to know John put the alarm in trying to extort $ from me and knows I don't want to wait 2 more months. Also if I get my deposit back, he could sell my car to someone else easily. They are in a position of power, I'm screwed. He said the alarm is integrated into the key and cannot be removed.

Now after a week, I called him twice, both times he said the TC with the alarm was available both times I said no, both times he said he would call me back ...both times I have not heard back....I'm being completely ignored and lied to!

Its not about the $, I was going to buy the car cash...but it's the principle of the matter. I will not pay a penny more, especially after being lied to in my face and over the phone.

Scion Dealers or anyone, please give me ideas on what to do? Anyone else "forced" into getting an alarm? Complain? Legal action - class action law suit? Talk to managers?

 

I know the tC comes with RKE & a simple panic fetaure but no true alarm, thats a option. Maybe the dealer is a dip ____ & thinks thats a alarm? If the dealer does not want to please you, then go some where else.

 

Dealerships order cars from their ports with options on them so they can try to force buyers into buying them. I was lucky enough to only have to buy the floor mats (which I would've bought online anyway).

My friend who has a Subaru WRX had to pay for the WRX spoiler, STI short shifter, and mats because all WRXs in Florida had them...

 

I wrote a story on this haha, they tried to get me to buy floor mats, leather seats, and a bumper protector, just don't giv in and take back your deposit trust me, go somewhere else and report them to corporate, they take down EVERYTHING

 

honestly i was lucky. the only problem i had was the last car on the lot had the upgraded deck, i didnt want it but i needed the car that weekend, they told me in advance and i just got it, but my dealership was aweseome.... best of lucl but def follow seng's advice

I had and alarm installed in my tC a week after i got it.. Free from the Dealer. One of the few things they through in for free. for returning as a customer.

but that dealer might be talking about the Key less entry system.

 

They tried to pull some shiesty ____ like that on me, they said they installed the upgraded Ipod deck.... It was only the axillary plug, I was so ____ed...

 

I guess I'm the only one who had no trouble getting a bone stock tC? <3 Smithtown Scion.

 

got mine bone stock if i wanted, but i ended up adding some swar bars and stuff. they were really laid back. it almost felt like they didn't want to sell me a car.
The attitude was pretty much here is what we got. Ya want one, cool, if not, we can order ya what ever you like, dont feel like one at all, thats fine too, have some coffee and donuts.
