Default was the tC designed for performance or not?

or are they just made to be commuter cars like a corolla.. neon.. etc?

is there anything about the car that was designed to give good performance? handling etc. not so much speed..

no. If they were going for speed, they wouldnt have added all that glass up top. that easily weighs an additonal 100 lbs with the weight of the glass, tracks, etc all in the wrong place. weight up high = BAD.

they made it so that it had enough pep to keep people happy

I agree with Neothin. It wasn't designed as a performance car, such as the Evo or Sti, but as a lower cost, entry level car. It is still good in the areas of performance and handling, but not great.

No, it's more of an economy car than performance. Like the Mazda 3 or base RSX.

Once you've driven a "performance oriented car" you'll immediately recognize the huge difference and you'll see just how far your car is from being a performance vehicle.

I don't know. Sure it has a Heavy Roof and its FWD, but with a few mods you can come close to autoxin times of cars like sti's and such. Guess it all depends on the person and the car

The key words being "heavy roof" and "FWD".

Also, why did you capitalize "heavy roof"? Is this some brand name glass roof I'm not aware of?

This has been posted a bunch, but the whole assembly weighs less than 70 lbs.

But no, it wasnt designed to be a performance car. There are aspects that make it better than a lot in its class performance wise such as the stock suspension and brakes, but it is still not a performance car. When I think performance car, I think sports car which immediately rules out anything with FWD (I dont care how much boost it comes with.. a FWD is still an econo setup, not a performance setup).

Wow, that's a lot less than I expected. Do you know how this compares to a "normal" car's roof with no moonroof at all?

The tC is more about wallet performance than street performance.

a few mods???? maybe a few thousand-dollar mods... :D

tc and sti shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence.

yeah, even with thousands of dollars of mods, stock sti > modded tc

I still think it looks nicer than a lot of cars in its immediate price range...go a few grand up and you got the Mustang and a few Dodge vehicles(and others) that blow it away.

Granted, there is absolutely no sane arguement that anyone can make to dispute the Mustang or any other American Muscle car as the greatest cars of all time.
