As said once or twice, the traction bars are there for traction purposes only. It keeps the weight distribution towards the front and helps the rear shocks from having to take the entire load from the dragster under extreme acceleration.

i know it would have to be fwd with tires like that but it just looks like a rwd with the way the engine is mounted it wouldnt seem like it would be efficent to have to transfer the power like that to the front wheels just seems there would be alot more moving parts so alot more friction but im sure it is fwd

I personally have never seen such a thing at the strip and I am involved in a Top Sportsman race team, Pheonix Motorsports. My father is the crew chief and their corvette runs 6 second 1/4 miles. So no, I am not a dumb ___, I was just thown a little by the orientation of the motor in a front wheel drive car! Thats all.
