Driver error. or not running properly. S2k has 240 bhp, and is lighter and more aerodynamic than the first gen tC. If you look at acceleration times.
To quote from Motor Trend: S2000 5.8 seconds to reach 60 mph, and it did the quarter mile in 14.2 at 98.1.
The stock scion tC is at best 0-60 in over 7(.2-.7?) seconds and 1/4 mile is 15.6 seconds.
Lastly...nobody on the internet cares or thinks you're cool for racing a random stranger on the street. You want props and respect for out driving somebody, get a go pro camera, go to a track day and see how well the car actually does against other cars and people who are actually racing. If you beat some S2000's there, then yes, way to go, you out performed a superiorly engineered (performance wise) vehicle.

What do you mean by the "tc has potential?", do you mean going down the highway in a straight line? What is done to yours?
If stock - your missing 80hp - Remember the tC cost half of what the s2000 cost brand new and I would not consider the two competitors. The guy was not racing you, but most likely playing around.
I know when I had my TRD supercharger, 10psi pulley, and tuned, w/ TRD limited slip diff - and raced a s2000 (intake, exhaust, flashpro) heads up a few times in a row, he beat me every single time. From a dig, from 3rd gear roll out..
But there is not much you can do against a better car with a driver that is equal to your skill set in a straight line - My car ran through the gears so fast, and I just had to keep shifting, while the s2000 just hung in its tall gearbox.
If you made this post to bash on Honda's, there are a few here that would be on your band wagon - I would not join in on that. I own 2 Honda products, a 08 CBR1000rr making 170hp, and a 08 civic SI coupe, kraftwerks supercharged.
Drax is right - if you want people to check out your skills, go race on the track with a SCCA/auto-x event. There, you will be put in a class, and go up against cars that might be able to out power you, but your driving experience could out-class them.

actualy man im not nessacarly dissing honda because i as well owned and own my share of hondas. and i would agree a s2000 is tottaly out of the Tcs leage. and at the moment i have been looking in to getting on the track but sadly i live in southern Louisiana and down here all we have is dirt tracks and drag strips. and i love both of them but i have modern coupe not 500hp drag car or a dirt car. so im stuggling getting to the track. the s2000 i raced only had a short ram intake and other then that was bone stock. and if you check out my thread in the tc lounge wit will explan what has been done to my scion and as well my future plans for the tc. and after reading yall post i really utilized y'all info i just orderd a go pro cam and from now on will be recording any runs with my tc. im not saying i am a top notch driver ether. but i am deffently above avg my quarter mile time in my tc is 15.124 at 112mph and my 0-60 time is 6.325 i have 148hp at the wheels acording to a mustang dyno stock i had 126hp. i also run 104 octane in my car since detnation caused my bottom end to go out du to low octane fules and running her like she was a race car. thanks for yall feed back both of yall information was very usefull to me, ive been wanting to step up my game and yall ina since are pushing me to the next lvl thanks again sorry to offend any one if i did

You need to drive the s2000 like a motorcycle in order to get anything out of it. If you're farting around at 2k rpm, you can't just downshift a gear and expect it to take off into space. The power in that motor is all the way at the top of the rpm range, down low that car doesn't have much. I don't think he's lying but the S2000 is a faster car. Sounds like a case of too much power and not enough brain cells.

+1. 148hp does not equal 112mph trap speed with a 15sec ET. And 104oct gas? Seriously that is a waste.

lol...
Offended? Have a little thicker skin man, it's the internet where there is an abundance of information to be gathered. If you don't take the time to look this stuff up on your own, and just go by what you "think" is right, then you open up a can of worms a bit. When you say stuff like "I made 148hp and ran a 112mph trap speed"....well you kinda will get poked at a bit if you didn't take the time to research first before making claims. But it's hardly anything to be offended about.
