is there any chance someone with access could take a picture of the spare tire well with the cover lifted up... curiousity is killing me and I won't get my hands on one for weeks...

I think there is a compartment to the passenger side of the spare tire, looks fairly big... it could contain the jack and tire tools, but the manual / literature doesn't show or say anything...

Hey, guys-

has anyone ever answered the question on the tC's spare tire? I did a search and came up with conflicting reports on the spare tire... is there not one in the tC? kinda unsafe, if you ask me. can anyone comment?

When you lift up, the temp. spare tire is in the middle with a nice "free" compartment on the right to store ice scraper, brush, and a big dime bag (just kidding about the last part for all you cops out there). On the left the compartment holds the jack equipment.

As the other poster stated, there is a strap located in the glove compartment (which I will put with spare) and I think the strap is used on the bad "big" tire to keep if from moving around in the back ( :?: :?: )

how bout that Emergency Kit? can someone provide a picture of that or a brief description of the contents? I'd like to know how I can patch myself up in case I get attacked by, i dunno, cybergypsy or something.

It's your typical emergency kit...bandaids, wrap, stuff like that...although it comes in a nice leatherlike binder thing. It fits nicely in your glove box...if needed.

that compartment is entirely styrofoam, and I intend to remove the whole thing... and replace it with a custom computer case and low power amp rack...

you could probably fit an 8" sub in that spot with room to spare... might even fit some 10" setups....

The Emergency kit does come with a cross to fend off Cybergypsy.

San Antonio has already gotten the tC. Mine is coming in next week (got the good news today). Last week Universal Toyota had 3 tCs (2 auto, 1 manual), and none were sold when they came off the truck. I know they sold the manual (silver) in about 2 hours, but the automatics (white and silver) were there over the weekend. I don't know if they still have them today, but it's worth looking into. Check all of the Toyota/Scion dealers in town and they'll let you know when they expect the next shipment to be. Hope this helps a bit!
