Default Tc is my obsession need advice

The Tc is my minor obsession that i have been having for a while. I plan to buy one soon but i need to ask questions first. I live in the Los Angeles Downtown area and was wondering where is a good dealership. Also what would be a good amount for a down payment. Because once i know what would be a reasonable downpayment then i can finally sell my 92 honda Accord EX, which i'm surprised is in great condition.

%30 is recommended by the pros to cover "drive outta the showroom" depreciation. That's so, god forbid, you wreck it or sell it before term end, you won't be in the negative. The car isn't that expensive, plus they're holding their value well. I'd say go with whatever works for you in terms of monthly payments.

your best bet is to go in to a dealer, pretend you don't know anything and ask questions that you know, if they are honest and good dealers, you'll know.

I know this because i have friends who works at a dealer. Professionals are there to convince you no matter what to buy their car, etc, but there are also some who are working their because their father or family member owns or manage the dealership. so they get hired with little effort and with that said... puts little effort. So go in and experience the the dealers, email them, there will be one or two that keep constantly calling you, those are the people you probably should deal with

I put 0 down. To ensure that you wont wreck it and ended up owing alot of money, you just have to pay for GAP insurance. That means if I you drive it out from the dealer lot after you bought it and totalled it, you owe nothing. The GAP will cover you how ever long your payment is. I think GAP insurance is 3% of MSRP and can be included in your loan. About dealer, just look for a dealer that has a good auto repair. They cant mark up SCION. So you are safe wherever you go. Always use credit union for your loan.

No doubt...
www.lendingtree.com you get loan offers, and then you can walk into the dealer with a check in hand. if you have an offer from someone else (on paper), the dealer is allowed to try to beat that deal. otherwise you're stuck with the "scion loan rate".

hope this helps.

Yea, give me five. Pretended to be stupid and ask what you already know. Test them!

Credit Unions are good, but not always the lowest rate. look around see what the dealer is willing to offer, usually the dealer has the rates of the close banks and credit unions, and ask him/her or do your own research. Most of the banks and credit unions websites have a list of rates. Compare and see where you can get the lowest rate for your loan.

I agree with testing the dealer. Do it!

Can't help with LA, but...

If you go to the OC area, don't go to South Coast Toyota, or Toyota of Huntington Beach, both of those weren't the best. We ended up buying from Power Toyota, they were good with the sale, but they have not been the best after the sale...needless to say.
