Default tC problems?

What up everyone,

Well, it looks like I will be handing over my xA to my brother, and I was thinking of either getting a Solora or a tC. I am trying to get it stock, but every dealership I have gone to has them fixed up with ground effects and spoilers. So I guess I will have to order it from the dealership.

Anyway, I was just wondering what the most common problems with the tC are.
And since we are at it, how would you guys compare the Solora and the tC?

well just order it with no extra stuff, if they hand you one with stuff on it demand another one.

trunk rattle, radio cover rattle, seat belt make noise

solora to me is a chick's car, my ex has one, it's ok, but i defintly recommend the tC cause of the stuff it come with and it's stylish inside.

Thanks for the info.
Now that you mention it, I have seen a lot of women driving solaras. Its just that I have always liked it, since it came out.
Should these problems (with TSBs) already be taken care of on a new tC?

Alot of people have came here and posted problems, but I've yet to experience anything other than a squeaking sound from the radio cover, and I have about 6k miles on my car. Overall it feels very solid and well put together, and I recommend it to anyone that asks.

I've had my car since late January and haven't experienced any problems yet. Hopefully I'll never have to, I love it so far.

Just like you, I had my two top choices down to the solara and tC. The solara is a much smoother, QUIETER and comfortable ride. It was really a tough choice for me. But if you really t hink about it, the tC has all the same things (and more) as the solara and cost thousands less. Of course the V6 solara is a different story. I finally decided on the tC because its more younger/hipper looking. I am mid 20's and thought the solara would make me feel old he..he. But its a very nice car, much more luxerious looking than the tC. Interior of the solara is beautiful too. But I liked the metallic look of the tC. Ive had my tC for 3 months now and I love it, but I wonder if I made the right choice not getting the solara.

My tC has about 9000 miles so far. Got it with the Hotchkis strut brace, blue LEDs, fog lights, auto dimming mirror/homelink, TRD axleback exhaust and the sub. I have only had the radio cover squeak, which only lasted about 2000 miles (it occured at about 1000 and ended at about 3000). So far I love it. Handles well (would handle great with the Pirrellis, the Bridgestones break loose easy), is a blast in city traffic due to the nice torque curve, the sound system is nice once you get it set right (plus it comes with an mp3 player stock), sounds great, has a ton of cool stock features and always gets plenty of looks and compliments. I definitely reccomend it!

I will definitely be adding my own custom sound system (when I have time to build the box and install all of it), springs, AEM CAI and supercharger in the future as well.

I didn't expect so many responses, thanks guys. From what I read the xA setting sounds better than tC setting on the headunit in the tC. Sinc this is the case, should there be any problem if I take the Scion 6 cd changer that I have in my '04 xA in my tC.
Captain tC, I am very torn on which car to get. I have always wanted a Solora, but the tC makes more sense for its value. I don't know which to get!!!!!!!

I've always liked the Solara's looks... and with a little help i think it could look more 'youthful' plus with the v-6 you get that extra power which never hurt. I got a tC b/c if i was gonna spend the money it would cost to get a Solara, i'd just get a WRX impreza...

whats the issue really? Money or just preference?

The issue is mainly preference. I've been wanting to get a solara for a while. Bottom line is that I want a coupe.

But, I drive a lot, between 170 and 180 miles everday, Monday through Friday. So, I figure, I shouldn't spend that much money on a new car, hence the tC. But, again, the Solara still lingers in my mind.

Had mine 4 months now. LOVE IT!!! i have some problems but i am the only one..so that's good to know HA! well for you guys but not for me HA! I have an idiling issue. It drops all of a sudden making the car shake. Getting that checked on thursday. Also having them fix the radio cover...not only does it rattle but it doesnt open when you close it. I got a rattle coming from the glove box, anyone have that one? So i might tell them about that when i go in too. The trunk rattle...so they know about that? like if i tell them they will know how to fix it?
