Im curious to see what kind of percentages were looking at when it comes to defects and problems early on with the new TC. Things such as that nice sunroof popping noise, transmission problems, paint defects etc.

As far as mileage is concerned, please don't post if you have had NO problems until you reach about the 600 mile mark. Now, obviously if your under the 600 mile mark and you have had problems please post.

 

Transmission problems and of course the sunroof noise. Sunroof doesnt bother me, but 3rd gear poping out does.

 

Could you explain for transmission problems in more detail? Has it been taken into the dealer? What was the result? Where did you buy your tC? How many miles are you at? Any other problems thus far?

I just reached 3,000 miles in my tC and I couldnt be happier. My main concern at this point is trying to figure out how to preserve the new car smell... I had the sunroof noise for the first couple weeks, but it has since disappeared. Believe me, I have a gravel driveway and the roof used to creak like a *****'s bedframe whenever the wheels weren't all on the same level. I've listened and haven't heard it in over a week and a half.

 

1400 miles total. At 1001, 3rd gear would start popping out of place and dropping the car into neutral. If I dont hold the stick in place in third gear, it will do this. Car is going in tomorrow morning... I'll let you all know then what they have to say.

 

4500 miles on mine and its pretty much just been smooth sailing, no real problems

 

MrBlister, keep us posted as to what the dealer has to say about the problem as well as the turnaround time. I see two people have chosen lemon for the poll - are your cars really having that many problems? No way its already been deemed a lemon...

small problems that I will let the dealer fix.

I have the creaking roof (but like others it has mostly gone away over time) but I am not going to fix but rather have the dealer fix at first oil change.

1600 miles / month and a half, nothing bad so far. The ac vents not staying in place are annoying, but i have an idea on how to fix them myself...

People who have problems - make your dealers work instead of trying to find a solution to your tranny/sunroof/etc problems on this website. I'm not saying don't mention the problem - just don't expect people here to find a solution for it

We can also categorize our problems like

Sunroof
Transmission
AC
...

And have a count of people/cars that encountered this problem.

 

700 miles and no problems :D I keep listening for the sunroof, but hopefully it will keep quiet.
