tend to let out the clutch in first, all the way, when i'm at like 1900 rpm...is that ok?
That's really pretty high. You're going to put an unnecessarily high amount of wear on the clutch by doing that. My suggestion is that you try to launch the car as close to 1000 RPM as you can. It'll do it. You just have to practice.
when i say i let the clutch out at 1900, that means that i'm already moving and i completely release the clutch pedal. i start to let out the clutch around 1300 rpm, then add some gas while lifting the clutch pedal, total, i let off the pedal around 1900rpm, otherwise it gets all bumpy on me...i'll watch what i do more closely tomorrow, this is an estimate by the way.

i try to take off around 1000ish. i dunno i dont really like e-throttle because of the lag but whatever you get used to it. the only gear that i have to shift late in to keep up with traffic is 1st bc its pretty short. usually i dont care tho. if i take off slow....just go around me then.

and yes revmatch downshift help a lot. way less driveline shock too!

i dont fall behind or get way ahead. most of the time i just stay w/ everyone else. at first i did find it hard to stay with all the other cars but with more practice you will get the hang of it.
just remember the definition of insanity is repeating the same process over and over and expecting different results.
so if what your doing is not working, try something else.

Hmm...I have an idea for you to try, if you're willing. Starting from a stop, slowly move the clutch out without adding any gas until the car begins to roll slightly. Right as the car begins this roll, smoothly add in throttle and continue bringing the clutch out. You may stall a couple times while trying this, but once you get it down, your RPMs should be closer to the 1000-1500 RPM range.

But yeah, try doing your normal way tomorrow and we'll see what's up.

shift into 1st gear, rev to about 3k, let go of the clutch as fast as you can (read: instantly).

if it's is done right, tires will start pulling with slight skid (and it is a good thing), withOut much of clutch wear.

About all of the clutch wear and stress are from the half-engaging, from imporper stand starts, and imporper downshifts. Avoid those, and the clutch should last a very long time.

I am driving an 89 Honda Prelude with 160k miles and the clutch is working fine, no slip at all.

ok, the best way i learned.... was first finding the absolute release and grab point...... put ur car in first, let the clutch out as slow as you can untill the car starts slowly rolling, then slowly let it out all the way..... you can do this without giving any gas, and without stalling. after doing this you can find where the cars initially and ends grabbing. from there its just mental repetition and applying it to real life driving.

later

A Lightweight pulley would help take care of that, at least a little

when revving to 3k and lettint out the clutch fast, does that tend make the car jerk alot? and also, should i floor the gas when i release the clutch?

ok, i watched myself alot closer today...i was over guessing my slip rpm for first gear. really, i let the clutch out kinda low then add some gas, but all in all, i let the clutch out at about 1400...that seems to be average right?

I used to have the same experience w/ my std Supra. If I was driving really conservatively, I'd get out-accelerated by Corollas. I figured my car was way faster than theirs, but not if I was just cruising.
