Yeah The tC spec package sales consistently account for only 2% of total tC sales.

I'm glad they'll stop making them. I got tired of seeing a tC with hubcaps. And they really didn't live up to how Scion wanted to sell them. They just sold them to ANYONE.

The only thing Like about the tC spec is the no moon roof so you can really build a real race car out of it. that's the whole point of the spec right? mod the hell out of it.

i guess... it'd be a great thing for someone to buy who just wanted to go straight into extreme modification... wheels would be replaced anyway, and if they were that serious about performance, the shortfalls like no moonroof, etc. probably wouldn't make that much of a difference..

although like it has been said, most people that bought the spec just bought it b/c it was cheaper and don't plan on modding it at all.

What I meant by not having moon roof. You can't make a good race car with a glass roof. You know. Just case something happen during high speeds you dont have to worry about being cut up by the glass. Plus tC spec it light weight.

it didnt help that Scion didnt really promote this car..... almost no one knows about it. I remember some ppl on this forum bought a spec without even knowing.

I think the spec package should be kept as an order only unit. Keeping them on car lots does not fit with the plan Toyota has for them. If your going to mod a car heavy, waiting a few weeks for it to arrive at your local dealership shouldnt be a problem. Unfortanatly, I dont think Toyota has a way to set up an order only system.

I think there are more specs out there then you know of. You know how many people were surprised that mine was a spec? I havn't seen another spec riding on Hub Caps but I'm sure i've seen one on rims and just havn't noticed.

i personally dont care for the spec package TC but if all you want is a cheap reliable car to commute or whatever its fine but everyone is right about never seeing one modded. i think most people are buying the regular ones to mod because i mean the options on a normal TC are just too dang awesome. i mean, who wouldnt want that big ol piece of glass to open?!

I saw one this morning. And I knew it was a Spec because it had the regular blacked out headlights and had the TRD 18s and paper plates. And it was clearly a car bought for a girl who didn't even plan on modding it. Which I doubt she was.

Yeah the Spec package was intended to be a value for those individuals interested in heavily modifying their tC post purchase-- but I think most people who heavily modded their tCs just modded regular tCs anyway
