Default tC stands for turbo-charged

C'mon guys, it's just begging for one. When you do get the turbo kit, you can tell people the tC stands for turbo-charged.

i dont thnk it really stands for that
the C comes next in line from the alpha bet
xA, xB, and tC

the reason they used C was because Volvo had a car out already named the xC. I'm guessing the "t" just looks nice next to the letter C

That is correct. When the tC first came out, a magazine did an interview with someone from Scion and when asked what tC stood for, he stated touring coupe. Scion was going to used xC, but another company used that designation for their car already.

I'll expound on my "Ok."

This has been discussed over and over, and all signs actually point to the truth: xC was the original name, however Volvo (or Saab? I forget) has an SUV already with that name. Then came xtC however phonetically that wouldn't be good with the parents out there . tC it is.

Touring coupe? Probably.
