Home sends you to the first file of the first folder while reading an MP3 Disk.

Folder Type Buttons browse through the MP3 CD's folders, you can split them up by artist, genre, etc. but my CDs usually only have 1 folder with all the songs on there.

I cait believe it, this car is out of control. My dealer didn't tell me ____

yup i 2nd that it does play mp3's.. when you burn the cd make sure you burn it as a DATA DISC and not an MP3 disc.. i tried that in nero 6.3 and it won't read if burned as an MP3 disc (according to nero).. i just dump the folders into a data cd and the cd player in the tC will read it.. oh make sure you turn on the SRT function by pressing the audio button.. makes mp3's sound better.. oh and found that i like the closer to cd sound of 256k/sec bitrate instead of the normal 128k/sec bitrate.. but only if you're converting the cd's to mp3's can you adjust this.. just thought i'd mention it.. takes up more space but i can hear the difference..

also if they haven't told ya.. you can change the mode of the radio to xB or xA mode.. since this radio is all scions.. the tC mode isn't as loud and really not good.. i think there's a sticky about that..

whoah whoah. i have NEVER heard of a radio that plays songs IN folders.. so you mean i can make a cd with say 3 folders. Spanish folder. Rap Folder. Rock Folder... songs in each one.. and when i put the cd in the cd player.. It will show Spanish Folder on the display??? and then play songs from there and then if i press Home. i will jump back to the beginning and i can scroll to which folder i want???? Please tell me yes cause THAT WOULD BE HOT.

Yeah, i really love the MP3 playing function... i like to fit between 5 and six cd's on a cd. it completely negates the need for a six disc changer.

as a side note, i JUST found out that you can change the sound of the stereo depending on the car (xA/xB/tC) and it makes a HUGE difference. I absolutely hated the tC setting (there's no highs) so i think i have it set for xA. anyways, read the sticky if u didn't know.

the only problem with the stock head unit is that i wish that the text would scroll. it's lame that you have to hold down a button to see the rest of the text and in some cases it won't show it all anyway because it's limited to 20-something characters.

you probably already know this if you read the stereos manual but just in case you dont , you can change the greeting from scion to whatever you want, i think you are given 8 characters space its kinda confusing though you have to hold audoi butoon down turn the ignition off and then turn the ignition back on blah blah.....
better read it yourself i dont remember exactly how i did it, do a search and its talked about

The sad thing about customized greeting is that it will get reset if you unplug the battery...

I have Nero Express 5.5 and just burned MP3s (not data)....plays just fine. I didn't put them on any folders or anything like that. I just hit the random button to play them :D

If you hold the SRT button down it shows tC mode....but how do you change??
I wanna know exactly how to change the greeting also. Hmmm, must search.
If someone know chime in. Damn manuals doesn't say anything about the radio...

that's odd, because when i burned it as an MP3 disc.. it was skipping and only playing portions of the mp3's.. burned it as a data disc nothing happened.. but this is also the new version of Nero 6.3 someone else on either this forum or another that had issues burned as an MP3 disc.. glad it worked for you.. just letting everyone know that sometimes it might not work..

hold down the SSP button and wait.. it will then say CAR TYPE --> tC use the up and down volume control buttons to select xA or xB.. you'll see the sound immediately..

the manual doesn't talk about the radio because there is a separate manual for the radio that does talk about how to change the greeting.. the dealer should've given you one.. get one from them.. it's a lot to type in here of how to change that message..
