How come you want the stock one? I have two 12" in Alpine type R in an Obacon Titanium box with a Fosgate BD1000 and i love it! sounds awesome!

putting an aftermarket sub in there probally wont be a great idea? IDK what kind of sub your planning on putting but i would think there's not much room in that box anyway?

I'm also interested in this as well. I have a 10 inch JL sub that I'd like to put in the stock box.

There is already a limited amount of cargo room to begin with, I couldn't justify taking up the little room that I have with a regular sized sub enclosure, no way.

I forgot who it was, but someone here put an Alpine 10" in the stock bazooka enclosure, and he reported great results. He posted a "how-to" also, so if he doesn't show up for this thread, you guys might want to search for it.

Im kinda confused here, hwo big is the stock sub? its only a 10 in so im sure its not that big, but on the other hand, i have a friend who has a sub box for 1 10" sub and its almost as big as my two 12" subs - bigger box - more boom

Bigger box doesn't necessarily equal more boom. Looking at sealed enclosures, bigger boxes generally provide lower bass (f3), but slightly less SPL than smaller enclosures, because the power handling isn't as great with larger boxes. It's important that the enclosure type and size be optimized to meet the specific sub's requirements. Not all subs of a given size are created equal, as one 10" might be designed for 0.5' sealed, while another brand/model of 10" could require 1.5' ported.

I'm happy with the stock sub that the RS 2.0 comes with. Many sneer at the 6.5in 35watt Pioneer sub even before they hear it.

I like my music to sound good and for some bass to compliment it. I don't want a head splitting boom box that over powers the rest of my music.

You might pay about 1/2 of the cost of a sub & enclosure if you buy just an enclosure. Also, some subs are picky with their enclosure, you might want to look into that.

A good 8in sub with about a 100watt rms amp should give you great "tight" bass. It also depends on your music and how you want your music to play. If you want a good sounding system, an 8 - 10 will be sufficient, but if you want to be heard 3 blocks away, then by all means get 2 15inchers.

Something like this:

8in dual voice coil Bazooka tube for $120

200watts rms amp for $80

A bigger box does give you more boom, but the more boom, you lose sound acuracy. If you've ever heard of a Mark Levinson sound system in a Lexus, you'd know that box size isn't everything. They don't have a trunk load of subs and they'll blow anything out of the water with great sound, "clarity" heavily emphasized.

by the way, I've also heard a Mark Levinson system in a Lexus GX and it only has a 6.5in sub and it sounds phenomenal.

yea bigger is not always better. if you have a small sub and a box built to spec you'll get surprising results.

the stock VSE sub is 100w but the internal amp is only rated at 60w max and the box is 1cu.ft.

I have a Kicker Comp 10" powered by a Kenwood KAC 6202 amp sitting underneath in the empty storage spot. sealed the box.
its great! more than enough for me.
and im still using the stock HU, putting the Bass to anything more than 0 is overkill, i keep it a -3.

Hmmmm, so you guys are interested in buying the 10" Bazooka Enclosure?

I tried this setup with a Memphis PR 10".

Looking to get rid of the box now though.
