why on earth would anyone with comparable money to spend want to buy a hyundai? it has to be the cheapest piece of monkey crap ever made. given the choice of driving an american made ford taurus or a hyundai, i might just be forced to get around by foot power.

Still like the tC better... plus 170ish HP does seem pretty lazy coming out of a V6... alot of performance mods out for the Tibby?
ditto.

When i dropped by the APEXi building to say hi to my buddies and saw the car they did for hyundai for SEMA. i was like. . .cool! But lets not forget that its a 2.7 V6 pushing out a whopping 172hp! Great car, just needs a decent motor to go with it!

I mean dont get me wrong...I think the Tc is hot...I was just wondering if it was me who thought that about it. In all honesty with the xB and xA looking eccentric, I would have thought the Tc would have been more dramatic, or bold...maybe in ur face...but its still cool especially for the price and the moonroof being STANDARD.

A whole 172 HP...

Hell the Celica gets 180 out a 4 banger.....
181 ft-lbs of torque from the 2.7 liter V6 in the Tiburon.
130 ft-lbs of torque for the 1.8 liter I4 in the Celica.

There's your difference. That and the fact the Tiburon costs over $5,000 less.

Sounds like the opinion of someone who's never actually sat in one.

It's the weight, not the power output that makes it slightly sluggish. Dropping the weight would improve all aspects of the car, from handling to braking to acceleration.

actually i've sat in both, and they are pure crap. a friend's tiburon was constantly in and out of the shop for repairs. my parents bought a hyundai quite a while ago and spent more on repairs than the actual car itself. and the ford taurus is only a slight step up in transportation value over a broken donkey.

with that in mind, hyundai's are the biggest load of nothing that i've ever come across. if you want to spend your money on nothing, so be it, but i prefer to get more value from my dollar.

Very good, I didn't notice that. I still don't like them but my respect for them just went up a couple of notches.

Plus I only see girls driving them... Its like v6 mustangs....

I like the way the Tiburon looks, mainly because they took alot of design ideas from far high-end european cars. For its price the Tiburon comes with a good number of features and a good amount of power (it is only 100lbs more than the tC, and the v6 has 10 more hp and 20 more torque).

However, I would never buy one. The quality of the car is bad, when you touch it, it feels cheap. I have heard of people having lots of problems with them. The car is also cramped inside, especialy the back seats. And if you add a super charger to the tC then the tC will be more powerful.

Unfortunately, there are only so many looks out there, when you consider fabrication costs, material costs, and aerodynamics, lots of cars are starting to look the same, with the streamlined sweep. Even the xA has to share with what, the Matrix and Aveo IIRC. The xB breaks from that mold, which makes it so shocking to the average american. Many people forget just how boxy/squarish their cars were 20 years ago. The tC follows in the sleek sweeps that many cars have, but there are cool differences too, like the roof windows and tons of features for the price. If I knew I could fit in it, I might have waited for the tC despite the extra cost compared to the xB.

Wheres the u? Hyundai.... Hyundais are ok cars they are not great. ive had my 99 for about 2 years and it has worked fine, yes it did need some parts and such but the parts for it are cheap so it dont really matter, as long as you take care of it, it will last, im pushing 80,000 on my car right now, my tranny went at 75 and i got a new one for free.. all and all its ok for the price... even at that i dont like the new tibs myself at all..
