I figured this thread might aleviate some of the VS. flooding we've got going on in here. personally i dont think any of these cars can compete with the tC. the Altima is really good but its a completely different car style and everything.

i got all these figures from the auto compare at msn.com
if you want real numbers and such, go to the websites and do the build thing to figure it out for yourselves.

www.toyota.com
www.honda.com
www.chevrolet.com
www.mazdausa.com
www.nissandriven.com
www.saturn.com
www.hyundaiusa.com
www.ford.com
www.dodge.com
www.vw.com
www.pontiac.com
http://autos.msn.com/research/compar...=Home&pos=new4 (msn compare link)

****edit: added some times and weights off of www.modernracer.com
unfortunately they dont have numbers for all the cars.

im spending way too much time researching this. lol****

lets make this the last VS. post... please

Good idea, I'm tired of those vs. posts too.

Add a Honda Accord LX Coupe (4 cylinder) to your list. Even though MSRP is higher, you can get it $17,000 after some bargaining.

You should put the tC's stats on the top of the list for comparison purposes.

He picked the 4 banger BECAUSE the tC is a 4 BANGER!! It's not like we're going to compare a V12 to a V6 or anything. Just the Same Car Class

actually i chose the i4 for the price. i dont think there are any v6's for under 18,000 unless you bargain.

btw all the prices i took from msn are for 2004 models since all the 05s arent out yet.

few added to previous post

those specs for the Spec V are kinda off. I dont think any magazine (as much as I hate mag racing) ever tested a Spec and ran below a 15.6 or 15.5. Most stock specs run 15.1 to 15.5 and trap between 89 to 90Mph. And there never was any automatic Spec Vs.

Hyundai > Yuo.

Hyundai's are actually very reliable now and nice. JD power reports them having better initial quality than toyota. You must of bought an ugly old ___ hyundai.

Chevrolet Cavalier LS Sport Coupe
$17,410
140 HP
150 TQ
0-60 mph : 8.0 sec.
0-¼ mile : 16.2 sec @ 85.0 mph
Curb Weight : 2749 lbs
Actually the Cavalier has been replaced by the Cobalt. Chevy has been spending a lot of money promoting it, I've seen a couple of different commercials with it and the new 05 Corvette in just the past month. I haven't seen any reviews for it yet though.

Way off topic...
Actually JD Power Quality rankings on refers to the first 90-days of ownership. Scion was really low but even lower is Porshe...which really does not make any sense.

More importantly JD Power's Dependability (reliability) rating was release 2-months after the quality rating. The result: Hyundai and Kia are last place, Toyota-Lexus, Honda, and Porshe carried the Top three dependability spots. This rating is more stringent as it carries over a three year period of ownership.

You must be sleeping because the V6 in your car responds very lethargically to mods (with the sole exception of an intake to replace that hideously complex factory one).

Don't get me wrong, you have a fantastic car, but the "power potential" is hardly greater. Also, take a look at both suspensions. The tC's is far superior. Some stickier rubber and a bigger rear anti roll bar to counter understeer, and we'll see ya later.
