Hey everyone

Im wondering if anyone has looked into dropping the weight of our tC's.. Anyone have any sort of ideas at all?.. A lot of people who ride w/ me notice a bunch of un-needed weight in our doors..

The "uneeded weight" is the added safety of more steel bars. I'd look to the glass roof to reduce weight if it's that big of a deal with you. (I'd hate to not have my glass roof personally )

 

there might be a release at sema for a cf replacement of the moonroof.

you can rip out the carpet in the trunk and take out the tools.

 

Eat low fat foods. I weigh 115lbs so that has to help a little.

 

 

carbon fiber hood is a fairly easy weight reduction technique.

 

That's not very extreme. Let's gut the A/C system...

 

It only reduces the car's weight by like 10-15 pounds, but it sure does look nice...

If you go to the track, rip everything out. The spare and tools are probably 30-50 lbs. The carpet and passenger/rear seats are probably another 100 lbs. Drain your washer fluid, too.. that's like 5 lbs!

 

Why? Its not a race car. Its an econobox to get around.

Why would you want to make a rattle prone car even more prone to rattles by removing stuff?

 

yea CF just doesnt do it for me.. i might resort to it later on. Im a big fan of the glass roof.. Plus i got an auto cause im sick of sticks.. This is gunna be a show car.. so Maybe taking out the back seats is a possibility... cf hood MAYBE, cause i got flint mica and it would look okay

mine doesn't rattle.. i've had that all looked and taken care of.. only rattling is speakers which will be dynamated soon enough

They are making a Carbon Fiber Trunk..Which looks ok..I've seen 1 pic of it..and it looks good, It come in 2 peices..Thats supposely Half the weight as the stock?!

 

If somebody released a "weight reduction package" with CF replacement hoods, trunk lids, and sunroofs, I'd bet they'd sell a few.

Hey, how about replacing the original battery to a smaller lighter ones? The battery that came with the tC is huge and heavy.

Don't they sell ligher, smaller ones with the same cranking power?

This should save quite a few pounds, right?
