Default Are Tc's hot property on the streets??

I ask because I live in Chicago, and one thing i worry about is someone stealing my car or something. Are people looking for these cars or what?

At first i was going to get something a little more low key, but dam, i love this car

i doubt it will get ripped off easily. unless they have a flatbed to haul it away. the transponder key does a decent job of keeping hotwiring away.

unlike most hondas, they haven't released a vehicle specific hot box, which is meant for aftermarket remote start installations, but is many times used to override the transponder system in a matter of seconds

Most cars that get stolen are chopped for parts..which is why hondas are stolen more than any other. There are millions of hondas out there so there is a big market for the stolen parts...like seats and airbags. Since there arent a lot of tC's out there, there isnt a demand for stolen parts yet so I dont thinnk youre in much danger. Joyriding on the other hand is different, but usually joyriders arent pros at getting into cars like the chop shop guys so the transponder chip will likely protect you from that.

I would suggest no remote start system b/c you are just begging for ppl to steal the car since you have a immobilizer bypass. don't keep anything in the car. I keep nothing in my car and I make sure that my tint is not too dark. I would prefer thiefs to see that there is nothing in the car worth stealing and have them walk away than to have them thinking there is something to hide b/c of dark tint.

I never even considered that when getting a car tinted. I guess curiosity killed the window then?

Around Detroit, most of the cars stolen are domestic brands. However, Toyotas are some of the most stolen cars in America, so they might try to get similar parts as those in Toyotas.

That's the same reason I don't keep my stereo cover down when parked..... I don't want a thief to break in thinking there's a better stereo in there than the stock Scion one.. =)

I dont see why people would steal TC's. As to how easy it is, I never looked in to it.
