Default tC's numerous rattles.... an '05 prob only?

Now, everytime i come on to these forums, there is always a complaint about rattles... Does this only come from '05 models... or does it also plague '06 models?

Reason why I'm asking is because I just ordered an '06.

Are there any other probs that the tC might have that will discourage me, or make me turn away?

Thanks for the help in advance....

-Mike

06 tC's are identical exluding the audio controlls and haed unit layout. The rattle problems aren't effecting everyone, if you do get a rattle, it may take some creative problem solving to rid your car of it, but deffintaly not a reason to "turn away" from your purchase, you'll enjoy the car, 99.9% of us do.

Seems like the rattles are different for everyone. Mine both seemed to be poor assembly methods or lazy workers. Either way its easy to fix, cost me now money and didnt take much time. Just have to use common sense and look around for it yourself. I still enjoy my car and dont regret it at all.

With simple causes to the rattles Im suprised that some of the minor ones arent fixed this for the 2006 especially when the parts are good they just need to be assembled more carefully.

As far as the hatch rattle, this one is not "simple" as you can tell by the probably 15 tried and not 100% guarantee fixes posted in this forum. I would think that Scion would have fixed the roof rattle as I think people were able to pinpoint the fixes to this one.

i have an 06 and don't have the rattle problems. when car maker comes out with a new year they usually fix the problems from the previous year. i am assuming the 06's would follow this, except you might get a few that have the problem.

Good luck on not having rattles (yet). If Scion knew how to fix, I would agree with you. But the hatch rattle has not been 100% diagnosed yet so the problem will cross years.

Sucks that yours wasnt simple but mine sure was. If people would actually try to figure it out instead of complaining that it wont go away you might have better luck. Dealers dont get paid to look around and correctly install things that the plant did wrong. They get paid to replace stuff until it magically goes away. Havnt you ever wondered why people take their car in and the dealer says oh its the hatch bump stops and replaces them and it doesnt work? Take it back oh its the struts doesnt work again. It just keeps going until eventually they replace the whole area. Some people have taken their cars about several times and had different parts replaced every time with no luck.

there was a tsb released, so they knew what the problem was before and the tsb fixed other tC's. i haven't really been reading about the 06 people having the problem like the 05's.
