does anyone elses tc seem to not ever put out anywhere near 14.4 volts normally? like the only time i've ever seen it at 14.4 is when i first start the car in the morning. and by the time i get to work which is about 15 minutes(10 miles) away it's down to about 13.6-13.9v.

also when i'm parked or stopped at a stoplight the voltage is always between 13.2-13.5. i know it's not extremely low but why is it never at 14.4 steadily? i do have a subwoofer with an amp that does 800watts rms but my voltage never drops more than .3 volts when it's at full tilt. the voltage in general just doesn't seem very high.

this is on a brand new 07 that i bought i august.

 

my 4 week old 07.... ive never seen the voltage over 13.6... thats with a big 3 and red top. no amps yet...

 

ok cool so it's not just me, i posted this same topic on caraudio.com/forum and they are all saying it's normal so it's ok i guess.

 

yeah, a14.4 is pretty hard to come by... in my suburban i had a red top, big 3 with 1/0 (same as the tC) and also a 250 amp alt... i still would only get a 14.1-14.3 at speed with no stereo on...

well my is always at 13.9 volts but when i turn my tv on and my subs hit in running 2 12in subs 1300 rms each at 2 ohms my volts drop to 10.8 with the car on

 

damn.... now thats a big voltage drop. you def need a h.o. alt!

 

yea already have one just waiting for the old one to burn out,
its already looking black its gooing to blow any time soon

 

well i hope you set your gains on your amp conservatively cause with that much voltage drop you could be sending your subs a clipped signal.

 

yeah... i see around 14.1 volts most of the time... just cruising with the system off.

when playing though... ugh.. like tonight for example... it went down to 12.5v in about 15 seconds after turning it up, and that's the point where i turned it down.

i need a high output alt dangit.
