Things you would do for $1000...
I have a rule for myself (so I don't go nuts) on modding my car. Now with this car I might break that rule for the first time, however I was wondering - what would you do on a stock tC for $1000 that would make this a "fun" car to drive?
I/H/E and springs.
or....
Rims and tires
or.....
a crrrrrrrrrrrap load of stickers for some mad horsepower. i get 1hp for each sticker on my window and about 2hp per square inch of vinyl with the flames. but u don't notice those until the vvt-i kicks in...of course

Probably alot of little stuff:
ebay OEM lip spoiler: 110$
Carbon a-pillar applique- 60?$
TRD emblem- 20$
TRD Dampers- 450$
Keyhole-bumper plugs- 25
Thats about 700.....put the 300 towards wheels lol.
Other then the oem ebay lip spoiler, I think Im done modding my car....
Then will just drive and maintain.......

Suspension would be your best upgrade straight out of the box...next to new tires anyways. Since you already have a rear sway bar, I would say new shocks/struts/springs. If you want a mild "growl" you could get a CAI and an axel back exhaust...but it all depends on where you want to take your car further down the road as far as modifiations are concerned. Keep asking questions!
This is what I would do if I could do it again:
$95 - Doctor Isotope's GearSwitcher Premium(Short Shifter + Bushings)
$130 - 6000K HIDs
$150 - Hotchkis Springs
$300 - Eclipse Head Unit
$80 - G.F.I. Intake
$100 - DC Sports Strut Bar
$100 - RedLine Italian Leather Shift Boot, E-Brake Boot, and Arm Rest Cover
$45 - Shift ****
My short shifter is my favorite thing by far...makes the tC so much more fun to drive. Precise smooth short shifts made a world of difference.
HIDs are great for obvious reasons and are pretty cheap.
The Hotchkis springs will give you better handling and make your tC look much more aggressive..
An Eclipse head unit will improve your sound quality a lot...I'm pretty happy with the stock speakers after upgrading the hu.
The GFI Intake is a do it yourself CAI intake. It's a real cold air intake that draws cold air from closer to the ground(false grill in bumper). It's easy, it looks good, it's cheap
DC Sports Strut Bar makes a small difference in handling and looks nice.
The shift **** and boots are self explanatory.
