Default Thinking of trading my 06 to an 09 tc?

how much will i be looking to pay more if i trade my 06 automatic to a brand new 09 manual. i'm thniking of getting it around november-december when the car will be paid off.

the car is in very good conditions, it has the trd exaust, lower, srs airbags (7 or 9) aftermarket wheels, it has about 37,000 miles on it, it has the ipod ready stereo and the scion security.

here's a pic of my car.

Any idea how much more i'll be looking to spend for a brand new 09 black Manual tc or even an 08 with pretty much the same options, security, lower, exaust, and i guess stock wheels oh and the srs airbags (curtin and seat all of those)

I like those wheels.

I would consider a private party (see: used car) before trading in at a dealer; trade-in values are pretty low right now, and you might be pretty disappointed for what you get.

hey man car looks pretty tight!! Honestly i don't know if it's worth trading it in for a new one. If you really think about it there really aren't that many differences between the '09s and '06s (aside for the small and obvious cosmetic 'enhancements'). Your gonna lose a couple grand on the depreciation of the '06, and once you drive that '09 off the lot, the same is going to happen. Save your money for a 350z

well it sounds like he wants to trade it in to get a manual transmission instead of an automatic, so he isn't trading for the new headligts, tail lights and uh...darker seat fabric so much as it is for a manual transmission really.

I'd wait a little longer to see what the new 2010 tCs will look like, I believe it is supposed to be a redesign.

In a couple of months, wouldn't it be nice to not have a car payment at all?
I would wait until your current tC is paid off before you make a move.

be ready to pay anywhere from 8-10K for a new one...

i was thinking about doing it too... looked into it and dealers around here wanted at least 7k on top of my car's value for a new one...

and my car only have 19K miles on it...and like only salesman said...aftermarket stuff don't add to the value of the car...

it should be a no brainer. you wont be having a payment in a couple of months so id say no to the new tC. If anything pay it off, save as much as you can to put a down payment on something that comes out next summer (2010 models). maybe something other than the tC might interest you and you'll have a good chunk of change to put down for your new car.

Damn new model comes out 2010..well it was a good run - lol..hope they don't switch it up too much. and to the o.p. - try to wait it out until you can see some spy photos...'06 to '09 for transmission and the couple other enhancements is still just lateral move in my book.

* besides unless someone is really an enthusiast they can't tell the difference

i say just swap your tranny from auto to manual, they have a list of what you would need in here somewhere to get the job done

transmission from auto to manual is hardly a lateral move if he is concerned about performance.. it is more like a giant leap

But, I would go with having no payments. Trading in every few years is just costing you money all the time.

And you can go on kbb.com and find your expected trade in value.

Agreed..I just meant if the 2010 model is around the corner he should at least wait out 'till some spy photos get released...but yeah life is fun with that 3rd pedal

Man in my own opinion based ont he facts you gave us........

tC is paid off in full in 4 months........means you own it and no one can take it away.

You drive an auto...........who cares........my auto is just as fast as every stick and all have is IHEP..........no differance in speed

You will get raped on tradein and be stuck with more payments.........

Wait tillthe new tC comes out in a year and if it is better you will be way ahead of the pack as your old car still has great value due to miles on it are low.

i guess i should keep it for while to see how the 2010 will look.
the main thing for trading it was just to get a manual, i just miss driving stick shift i'm not looking for better/worse performance.
