just gotta be very careful with a radar as i got pulled over a few times and they ask why do i have a radar i just say i dont know it looks cool in the car.....if you have a clean record they will give you a warning if not then youll probably get a ticket for that......

 

^^ get a ticket for having a radar detector? They're only illegal in Virgina and DC.
And when did a citizen of this country need to explain themselves to a cop? It's none of their business. The device is legal, that's really all you need to say. Now some of you will say play nice with the cops, and yes I am decent when I have been stopped. But that's the part about a GOOD detector, it tells you where the radar is and have a much better chance of NOT being stopped because you were not speeding when the cop gets the reading on your speed (within distance of the radar gun). Then you wont have to answer questions

 

actually where im from NY radars are illegal.......i mostly keep my radar in my front window and if a cop is behind me and he sees it lite up along with my exhaust i get pulled over as he may think im street racing or look supcious happens all the time..now that i tinted my lights its even worse they like to follw me to see where im going which is stupid they should go find real crime instead of picking on someone that doing nothing wrong

 

^^ wow you should really check your laws, because NY is not illegal, but you believe what you want. and yes i already looked it up. you should really do your research on that before believing a cop or whoever.
