Default too many accidents

is it just me or does it seem like this car gets into many accidents? i bought my sciion it was in a rear accident, got it cheaper.

one week later i almost get hit, the guy goes from an exit lane back into the highway, going over the median, almost hits me, if i didnt jump quickly tp the left lane. so i had to be quick and made sure no other car was in that lane, if so i was screwed. i went on front of this dude and hit my brake, i was going to get out and show him my brooklyn attitude. damn immigrant cab drivers.

anywho, do you guys think some one sees our tc and say its a small car he is going to give me the right of way. i just see too many post on accidents, maybe its the youngins who drive reckless.

as an old man (2 i been driving for 12 years. so that experience helped me get away from this accident by thinking ahead. i always check the lanes next to me, just in case some moron like the cab driver did what he did.

so yeah why scion tc get into accidents? lol sorry for the long rant, dude ____ed me off

That's what I generally attribute as the cause, since that's the target market and the majority of owners are 'youngins'.

Go easy with that "old man" bit, as driving for 12yrs means you too are a still 'youngin' in my eyes.

Your grammar implies you're about 7yrs old. No offense.

The reason I say this, is because you rip on old drivers and immigrant drivers.

I saw a special report on TV some time ago about drivers. They were showing that often times drivers (mostly male ones, but females aren't exempt either) change their personality when they get behind the wheel. They get as sense of indestructibility/invinsibility--that they are in their safe-zone. And in their minds, they are "good"drivers while the rest are just "stupid" ones. Ego.

I don't think accidents are random/coincidences---something always causes them: mechanical or human (either ego or poor judgement). The Tc alone being an accident-magnet doesn't make sense. And age is not THE determining factor for a "good" driver. Maturity, is.

So let's keep our cool when somebody cuts us off--that means no revenge by hitting the brakes and confronting the other driver Unless you want to be the 'cause' of the accident

well ego or bad judgement would not have been the cause of my potential accident. It's ny cab drivers. i have no clue where these immigrant drivers get their license. how could you go from the exit lane back into traffic. that would make any one angry

what makes me angry is when people don't use their turn signals. ARGHHH i need anger management

Bad drivers are bad drivers. Whenever I pass by accident scenes its rarely a Scion. I personally haven't ran into too many situations where another driver would take advantage of my plot of land just because I'm in a tC.

And I think you're just seeing a lot of posts on accidents because people don't typically make posts like, "I was driving up the onramp and this Saturn totally let me merge. Then I went home and had a burrito." Its not (as) interesting.

lol! That's NY cabbies for ya! haha I remember when I first went to NY a few yrs ago and (gasp!) rode a cab--- it's an experience.

Don't worry crayc, i can totally relate to your experience. I also hate it when other people don't use their signals when they turn/change lanes. I think it should be a crime against humanity . I live in Los Angeles so yeah lots of immigrant drivers here (including myself); Of course it's not being an immigrant that is the problem but the driving habits they took with them is.

I live in CO, and it's rare to see anyone signal.

Also, I'm not sure that people know what signals are for. They wait until the gap is there, turn the wheel, and if they do signal, it's a quick 1-2 flashes, and it's already after they've started merging. What's the point?

A signal is to indicate to the drivers behind you that you'd like to merge into their lane. Then if they are nice, he/she will slow up or if it's best, speed up to let you get in.

Again, that is IF they signal.

I always signal.

I have to say this, I'm an immigrant and I'm a driver so I guess I'm and Immigrant Driver. and I think, I might be offended by that flawed view you have of drivers from another countries. How did you know the driver that cut you off was an immigrant? Did you get close enough to see him or her ? Did you sit down and talk to the driver to know where they came from ? If you put your self in a spot where someone could hit you, You are not as good of a driver as you think you are. If you views of people you don't know are any indication of how you driver, please take public transportation ,

^^ I don't think he ment to offend anyone but "immigrant drivers" is a pretty broad generalization. Immigrant driver myself as well.

Anyways, people need to turn the blinkers on before the start to merge hehe.

in the medical field, the term MVA (motor vehicle accident) is not longer used. It's MVI (motor vehicle incident) now. I guess they also feel these type of things arent accidents and most can be avoided.

i too have had numerous close calls, and i am one of the most cautious drivers i know. for the first month i owned the car i was basically just waiting to get killed because it seemed like people were aiming for me. its better now but i totally agree.
