Torque For Valve Cover?????

Default Torque For Valve Cover?????

Does anyone know what the torque is for the actually valve cover?

I dont imagine it is more than 10 - 15lbs or so. But, I havent really paid attention to how many bolts there are since I have not had to take it off yet. But a torque spec list would be pretty nice to have. Or a Haynes manual....

i wouldnt use a tq wrench on a valve cover unless you want to break a stud. there is no reason to use a torque wrench on something with 11lbs of tq

i agree with slowpoke.............i barely over torqued one and bamm, snapped. handing tighting is plenty imo.

The point of the tq wrench is that you WONT break a bolt with it if you use it correctly. But I agree, there is no need to use one on something like the valve cover. I havent looked closely, but if there are multiple bolts on each side, simply start in the middle and tighten alternate sides and move outward. Snug them the first pass and tighten them the second. With such a low tq value, use a 1/4 inch drive ratchet and tighten carefully.
