totaled auto, bought manual
hey guys... i was in a pretty bad car accident and I totalled my Auto tC (flint mica). I got enough insurance money to cover the loss and so i decided to buy another tC. I just love them too much! so i bought an 07 Super white Manual** tC. I just wanted to say wow! what a difference compared to the auto. My auto tc was slightly modded with K&N CAI, INjen axel back, TRD Springs, ZPI S-pipe, Zpi-crank pulley, and INgalls Torque Damper, and also, sportin the 18" enkie's. My new stock manual feels like it could woop my previous car's ___. Just wanted to say hello to all you 5spd's out there and happy to be moddin a Manua!
good deal...welcome to the manual world...you wont want to go back once you drive it enough...i switched about a year and a half ago and i wont go back to auto until im retired, i like controling my car...there is just something about shifting at redline that i cant get enough of....of course break your car in first before you do that, and shift at 6000 for best results...shift at 2500 for normal driving, just spouting off some words of advice. happy driving my man!!

then the tC god shall smite thee with bad gas mileage! juss kiddin - redlinin a motor before 3000 miles nowadays isnt gonna hurt ur car, unless u do it every gear every time u drive!
i was in the same position as you, i had a modded auto and it was totalled.
then i got another tC that was stick, and it is way faster than my last tC.
i feel like an idiot for ever modding that car, but with time comes experience. i learned i will NEVER buy an automatic again, your basically paying for a loss in hp and FUN.

yeah, no more auto's!! i slavaged my damper, stereo system, and rims. I'm gonna go a different in modding this car. I wasnt a fan of my exhaust so im gonna go TRD. YEs I know... the gains suck but it sounds damn good. im gonna put back my s-pipe and pulley. Im thinking of going Tein h-techs with my 18's. I was also looking into short shifters but heard that its real stiff to put into gear. I like the smoothness of the stock stick.
Welcome aboard. I love my manual, and I even prefer it in traffic (I actually do). To me it just seems easier to start off, shift into neutral, let the car coast, and do it again if you need to move a bit faster, than to hold the brake all the time. In an auto my legs get a tense from barely moving at all, like if I had just gotten of an airplane.
And the feeling of acceleration in an auto is something I can't stand....eww...

This manual is easier than others due to the reasonably short clutch "length" and the ability to start easily in 2nd gear. Driving my finance's civic in DC traffic made me want to shoot myself, traffic in the tC makes me only want to choke myself a little.
