Totalled My tC.
Date: Sat Feb 17
Time: 11:00pm
Location: Highway 459 @ Exit 31 (Derby Parkway)
Story: Pulled up to the light just before the on ramp for the highway. Was just leaving from a tC meet and was really pumped. In front of me at the light is a Hyundai Tiburon GT V6 with several mods (body kit, exhaust, monitor, etc). I rev up and he follows suite. At green he takes off and I follow. He slows down to get on the highway ramp and I think this is my chance to catch up a little so I take the corner faster than him. I am now 2ft from his bumper. When I shift into 3rd I nearly rear end him and have to let off the gas, same with 4th. By the time we hit 5th gear we are going god knows how fast. The whole time im not taking my eyes off his bumper. He changes lane all of a sudden and then I see why. Another Scion tC doing 65 in the fast lane. So I have a Tiburon beside me a Scion in front of me and nowhere to go. This is the point in which I cant really remember what happened. Next I know me, the other Scion, and the Tiburon are all in the ditch. Cars are badly beaten but everyone is ok. Police come and I tell my story just like that. They give me no tickets and send me home with a report number so I can pick go to the police station to get my police report.
Then I have to deal with the tow truck driver. He pulls up and takes 45 min to load my car onto the flat bed. At this point it is snowing and I have no shoes on (don't ask). He finally gets it up on the flat bed and then asks "Where we gonna take it?". I tell him where and he says he has no idea how to get there. So my buddy (my ride) shows him how to get there. When we arrive he says "You gotta pay." I pull out my debit card and he say "I dont have a machine to do that... I need cash ($125). I go the the grocery store and take out $140 (has to be in $20 increments). I get back and tell him I will need $15 cash back. He says "I dont have any cash on me fella." At this point I am tired, cranky, my body hurts, and I just want to go home and go to bed. I tell him he better come up with $15 or I will be talking to him supervisor on monday. He then pulls out at least $50+ bucks and says here you go. I get no reciept and leave. On monday I called the towing company to get a receipt for my insurance agent. The towing company then says they have no paper work for this tow and that the man had taking my $125 cash and pocketed it. They did however know about the tow because the police station are the ones who called it in. They print me a receipt and tell me the man will be fired for what he has done. She also said he could have taken my debit card.

Lesson: Going fast isn't what we are here to do. Showing off your engine size while behind the wheel is a stupid game that most people will lose eventually. Here's the deal. Park your car, lift the hood, let people gaze, and sit back and enjoy the praises. "The only showing off I will be doing is when my car is parked."

Haha yes I do deserve what happened. And yes the lesson has been learned the hard way. I know I am going to get flamed for what I did. I did not post this to get recognition. I posted this so kids like me will understand the dangers of this kind of thing. I hope I can prevent just 1 person from making the same mistake I did.
sorry bout the accident, this is exactly why i dont street race.
its like fast and the furious 3, "whats the point of a race.. to prove im faster? if i were to race, it would have to be for a reason, something important, or why race at all?"

Glad you're okay, but like others said above, it was your fault and you were acting incredibly stupid. You need to think when you're behind the wheel, because that could have easily cost an innocent person his/her life. I hope your insurance cost skyrockets.
thanks ktwo for the flame -- i appreciate your opinion and yes it was stupid. ever heard of second chances though -- man most of you are like the devil. dont give anyone a second chance. JUST FLAME FLAME FLAME!
I don't understand the mentality behind a flame. What is the purpose of starting an argument / fight that nobody but the moderators will win? I am trying to get my story out there for people to see and maybe realize the severity of the situation. I am not asking for praises for what I did nor am I telling you not to flame me. I just don't understand why people would flame.
