Default Tracking at Road Atlanta

I got the opportunity to track my tC at Road Atlanta this past weekend and it was freaking awesome! I have never done it before and I loved it. I did it through the Performance Driving Experience from SCCA. My car just has an exhaust and Injen SRI on it now and it definitely needs the suspension and brakes upgraded if I want the laps to go by quicker. Of course, everyone knows how soft the tC's stock suspension is but I was flopping around inside the car so bad. Kind of funny but none the less, totally awesome! Has anybody else done this before? I am looking into modding my car to handle future sessions or getting a car just dedicated to doing just this. If you have not done anthing like this, I HIGHLY recommend it!!!

Well, to be honest, probably just Eibach sports with Tokico blues but I am seriously debating the BC racing type BR coilovers. Of course I will also have the progressive rear sway and polyurethane front sway bar mounts to keep everything tight.

I don't want to go crazy but it was so much fun, I am pretty much addicted! I need to hit some other tracks. I am also looking into the Stoptech stage 2 kit soon since the stockers won't last much longer. That's about it. Went about 105 down backstretch....not overly fast but good enough at the time!

Also try auto-xing for extra practice, and keeping working on the driver as well.

I FINALLY made it back to Road Atlanta after several failed attempts to go. I will say the weather was awesome and it was perfect to go out and drive on the track! I also upgrated my suspension with the TRD struts/springs...I went 'simple' and after installation, I was a little disappointed. But now....I can easily tell the difference vs. when I went stock so it made me feel better! I do wish I had gotten coilovers but no real regrets so far. My 'times' were faster and I did not feel like a bobble head doll getting tossed around in a tin can like I did the first time out! So, for anyone seeking a fairly inexpensive upgrade, TRD struts/springs do what they are supposed to do. I also have the Progress Rear sway.

I still need to go to some other tracks but Road Atlanta is just SOO much fun!

If you get the chance....GO! It is a pretty awesome track. Plenty of elevation changes, decent stretches to get up to a good speed but enough curves to test your skills at cornering, heel/toe shifting, etc! I went during the SCCA races where PDX is available. Pretty cheap and a lot of fun!

Im sooooo jealous!!! I have ALWAYS wanted to go to a track and test my skills and see how I do. Back in cali I had 240sx and slid around a little but nothing with tracks and trying to get the fastest time!

lucky....

I recommend you check out the scca website and find the schedule for PDX or maybe even auto crossing. It is pretty awesome and like I said, inexpensive compared to 'racing schools'!

Yeah it is always a track i have wanted to hit up. So far it looks like i am still heading out there for round 2 of the gta series. I just want to find the tc a ride out there on a trailer. It isn't like most track stuff where i am still in state.
