i'm not sure, check kbb and some other sources. honda told me 15,500, but that's for an auto 06 tC with2100 worth of accessries that probably didn't count for much of anything...

what are you going to trade the tC in for? and why are you trading it in?

do tell, i'm always interested in why ppl want to buy/sell their tC for something else..

They are giving me $15,000 for my 05 auto 15,500 miles. I'm trading it in for a Dodge ram 1500 with a hemi. It's fully loaded with everything( Leather/ suede sits) Rims, etc... The TC is a fun car but to small and always has a problem. Too many rattles and plus it doesnt go very fast.

If you think, even for one millisecond, that you are not going to be in that Ram for at least 5 years, don't do it. If not, then one day, you will look back on this moment as the worst financial decision you have ever made.

In a word, "depreciation".

In 2 years, that $30k Ram will be worth less than your current car, and you if you finance it like 95% of the American population does right now (72 mos, no money down) you will still owe about 22k on a vehicle that will be worth maybe 14k.

And if gas continues to trend like it has, it will be about 3.75/gal at that time, and your Hemi will likely depriciate even more. The market for trucks for people who don't need a p/u is dead and will continue to be dead at that time.

Well it sounds like you needed a car like a EVO or STI or better a IS350

Rattles....just turn up the stereo or get some foam.

Speed....ok, you are going to a TRUCK. You want to spend 30k on a truck when you could have a 12 second tC for under 25k.

Ultimately, the decision is yours. Good luck if you decide to go with the ram.

There are a number of options open to you get the speed and lack of rattles.

- A 50k mi Lexus GS 300 could be had for about 25-30k
- A 35k mi Lexus IS 300 could be had for about 35-30k
- A brand new Suburu WRX could be had for about 30k
- A brand new 350Z could be had for about 30k
- The new Toyota Tundra will be on the showroom floors in about 6 mos. If you wanna big expensive truck that's gonna cost 2, at least get something that has a reputation for resale. Although, you will pay a premium for it being new.

Depriciation is by far the biggest expense in vehicle. Do some research on vehicles that appeal to you, ask around and be smart about it. Don't just jump into something because your tastes have changed. That's how you get screwed when you're 25 and looking at purchasing a house or doing anything else that requires close examination of your credit and banking history. Next thing you know, you're living in a van down by the river ;)

i wouldn't recommend the ram either. i don't see much resale value on many other cars besides honda and toyota make.

you mentioned the tC was not fast and too small... why go to such extremes as a ram? i guess it's really what u want. even if buy a ram isn't good finacially, it's still what you (the owner) wants... i don't think you would drive around in a is300 if you don't even like it just b/c it's a lexus and has better performance.

on a side note, i just test drive a 350z last night. man that thing was a monster. i didn't realize it was that loud on the inside while pushing it. love the performance aspect of the car. but there are a few weak qualities that would make me thing twice about buying one.

It's your decision, but I wanna tell ya something. When I was looking for a tC and trading in my car, one dealership used Kelley BLACK book, another used Kelley BLUE book. Black book sucks... They were gonna give me 4 grand for my car, versus the dealership I bought from who used the Blue book... 6 grand trade-in-value.
Oh, and you can't find info. about the Black book anywhere... Unless you're a car salesman yourself.

But anyways, good luck on your decision. Think about it wisely. If you can afford payments, think if you can afford other stuff in the near future: house, apartment, etc.

And I also heard gas will be at $6/gallon by next summer!

The funny thing that gas down here has gone like 13 cents..when i got my tc over a year ago i didnt have the best job but now i have a better job and i noticed that the tc looks good and all but its made from cheap material...they were giving me $15,000 for my tc but i didnt do the trade...i guess i will just turbo it and stick with that for a while...thanks for your opinion

I hate to beat a dead horse, but I agree with everyone who says that getting the Ram is a bad idea. I mean, you're only 19 and you're planning to buy a 30k truck? You must have a good job, man. I assume you're going to be paying no money down and long financing terms. You're going to be so far upside down it's gonna hurt. I also think you have no idea how much it's going to cost to fill this thing up every week. I surely hope you're not counting on the cost of gas going back down, because the age of cheap oil is over.

Also, you mentioned that you don't like your tC because it's slow. I've got news for you: that Ram is going to seem like a Nash Rambler compared to your tC. Sure, it's "Got a Hemi", but it weighs quite a lot more and is geared for towing. Unless you really need to haul stuff, there's no logical reason to buy a big truck...and this is coming from a truck guy and an off-and-on mopar fanatic.

Stick with your tC and save for a s/c. You'll be glad you did.
