Default TRD Exhaust question...

I know there aren't many fact based pieces of information out there about many of the options that will be available from the dealer, but I was curious on the "experts" opinions on this.

I'll be getting the Supercharger as soon as it comes out. Now the dealer was a jackass and asked if I wanted the cold air intake and exhaust even though the CAI won't work with the S/C (correct me if I'm wrong, please). I won't be getting the intake, however, I was thinking that the exhaust might be worth looking into. I know it's a little more expensive in the long run to get the option installed by the dealer, especially when there will be countless choices of aftermarket exhaust systems soon after release.

Anyway, my question is, will the "TRD Exhaust" be worth getting when I get my tC, or should I wait until I get the S/C installed and then add an exhaust system later? Any idea on companies that will be making systems for our car?

I think adding an exhaust to a car whether or not you have FI on it, it's always worth it; expecially a TRD exhaust. I'm defenetly getting it when it comes out, the main reason is: It will be 50 state legal. I don't want to be hassle by cops. The supercharger and the cold air intake will probably not work together, I think it has something to do with the air and fuel ratial. Some of the matrix owners that I'ved read about that have bought the supercharger; bought an air and fuel regulator and it's seem to fix the problem. The other way is running a methenal alcohol sytem, but I'm not so sure on how that works.

I've been hit'n up newcelica.org and most of the guys that have the TRD exahaust say that it sounds great. It doesn't sound ricey. If I understand them correctly it sounds more race carish. I'd suspect that this coupled with the 50 state legal aspect makes it a great buy. Be pretty cool to have ur tC sound'n great and then get the extra power when the s/c comes out.

correct me if i'm wrong, but from what i've seen.. TRD parts in general suck. Check out the spring issue of Boost(Car and Driver's Import mag). They have the Official TRD Celica (a 2003 GT Celica) with over $26 grand worth of TRD aftermarket stuff ($16g of which is cosmetic) and it only brings the thing up to 180hp from 140. Thats kinda of steering me away from TRD, asside from the s/c.

geting an exhaust before the S/C is not a bad thing especially when rumours are saying that it won't be released till november. regarding trd. all i can say is that there are better aftermarket products out there but when that part does something to your car and you have to bring it into the dealer to get it fixed under warranty. trd doesn't look as bad.

i've heard all the comments about trd usa regarding celica owners, but one thing that you can't overlook with trd is that its backed by the facory.
