Default Is TRD Exhaust really worth it?

Well... I know that it's all good and stuff but the only thing I am worried about is the hp gain on it.

Some people say 2, and some people say its 5.

Plus, I've seen a lot of people with TRD Exhaust installed on their tC.

Any Advices?

Oh btw, the exhaust sounds nice.

The exhaust does sound nice, I would get it if that's all I was looking for.

However I personally am waiting for other aftermarket producers such as Greddy, DC Sports, etc release more cat/axle back exhaust options and hopefully some dyno charts as well.

We'll see after SEMA.

I agree exactly of what you think.

Both sound and waiting for aftermarket.

Hmm.. maybe I should wait too...

if the TRD muffler is not for you, the precisionmuffler.com axle back tC version is for you. www.PrecisionMuffler.com :D

Thats my problem. I want to buy the TRD exhaust, but if I buy it through the dealer it will cost me $590 and thats not even with install. Wouldn't it void the warrenty if I don't let the dealer install it? Also would ordering it online and then going to them to insatll it be cheaper? I doubt it, but maybe I'm wrong.

I have the TRD exhaust and love it. It adds a nice sound - not high pitch - and its all stainless so it looks awesome.

I asked the same question before installing the TRD springs myself. The service guy at my local dealership told me it would not void the warantee as long as it was done right... in other words, if something breaks, and it's the fault of my spring install, then warranty doesn't cover it.

As far as the install.. it's very easy if you have the tools or know someone with tools. It's really just a few bolts. No shop should charge more than an hour's worth of work if you choose to go that way.

You can buy parts online (Ebay etc) for HALF the price dealers charge. How do you lift up your car? Open your owners manual and find the jack points on your car. Go to sears and buy 2 jackstands ($40) and/or a nice floor jack. Use your factory jack or the Sears jack on your cars jack point. Once it's up, put a jack stand under the same point and remove the jack. Unbolt the 4 or whatever bolts hold the muffler on and put the TRD one in it's place.

Don't be intimidated by installing simple things like intakes and exhausts.. Especially on new cars. It just takes time the first time you do it, so do it on a weekend.
