Default TRD Radiator Cap - Stupid Question

Ok, well, I ordered the blasted thing a while ago and didn't bother to ask this until now... mostly because I feel like an idiot for having a problem with something as small as this... anyway, I can't get the damn thing to fit! I push it down with all my weight but it won't turn onto its housing! Looking at it, it almost lookes like the wing-hooks are not the same as my stock cap and it just grinds on the plastic tubing...

Is my cap defective?

Help...

look at the bottom of the OEM and TRD cap
if they do not match up, cap is wrong
if it doesn't go on..sommin is wrong, it should pop on no problem

Well, I looked, and... ok, so the disc thing that is on the spring column on the TRD one... is it supposed to push back as far as the disc is on the regular one (which is already all the way back)? I assume it is, that it's supposed to push back that far... but hard as I can, I can only push it downa bout halfway before it stops moving...

Wrong cap
There are two distinct DEPTHS of the small rad cap. You're trying to replace a shallow cap with a deep cap. Send it back. Make them send you the RIGHT one...

Yeah send it back...it goes on in like 2 seconds and clamps down tight with like a quarter turn...

TRD sparks have always been good. i'm sure they'll take care of it. a cap should take very much effort to put on.
