Well, I went for my free oil change last week at Longo Scion and told the guy at the service dept. (Matt) about creaking sounds I was hearing coming from either the sunroof or hatch, and then mentioned that I heard about a 'technical service bulletin' (TSB) out for the tC moonroof. He had his guys look at it after the oil change and sure enough all the creaking and poping sounds were from the sunroof. I took it in yesterday and had them work on it and change/fix whatever needed to. They had my car overnight and am very pleased with the results when I got it back today. No more sounds while driving... no more creaking or popping type sounds! :D
Anyhow, I took some pics... I never noticed these before? The metal hinges holding up the front visor part. Maybe i'm going crazy, but i've never noticed these before...

Here's a further away shot:

Ohh, and part of the other glass for the moon roof is lined with metal for more stability. I looked at it while it was open on the freeway and it wasn't bouncing up and down like it did before.
Ohhh and my drivers side floor mat had a hole (after barly 4-5 months) from where I rest my foot while driving soo after complaining and taking it to the main scion manager at Longo Scion, he happily changed out all my floor mats with the 2006 ones.

Plastic heelguard.... no more holes! YAY!
Props to Matt (service manager) & Longo Scion!

Did they tell you or did you notice anything major they did to the sunroof . I need to take my in about the sunroof as well , seems when its tilted up it makes all sorts of noises and as for the bouncing around when its open I have that . Just curious on what they did to it
I don't get any noises or anything like that... but sometimes mine won't close. The safety thing kicks in when it tries to press down the wind deflector. If I try it 3 or 4 times, it eventually closes though.
As for the floor mats. I got mine from mcgeorge, not my actual dealer. Would they still honor the warranty on them if they wear out? Has anyone gotten them replaced at a different place?

those hinges for the wind deflector look like mine.. i'll take a look at mine tomorrow and compare.. but they do look similar.. congrats on the floormats.. i took my carpeting out for the winter and haven't put it back into the floormat yet, but i have an automatic so the heel thing probably wouldn't happen..
the service bulletin from what i remember was just some loctite on two screws.. takes like 10 minutes.. but glad the noise is gone for you..

i'll check my track tomorrow.. and compare it to yours.. so you think that the arms that hold up the wind deflector are different? any other differences? because mine has a metal frame around the sunroof glass, always has..

thats prolly why you got the new 06 matts then, cuz u just got yer tC. they prolly noticed the problem and did something about it before hand. just my guess.
The Sunshade thingy for the moonroof? does anyones flap open a lil at all?? I mean the sliding cloth/vinal thingy the covers the sun in the MOonroof? Mine is all weird, maybe I'll post pictures. It really bugs me, so yah, Ill post picture cuz I am confused...
Ok I just went out to the garage to take a look at mine and the wind deflector on mine (05) has the same arms as yours does . BUT (I love that theres always a but) when i was checkin mine noticed a creeking noise that started then stopped when the glass was back (auto open position) I looked at my sunroof and its LOOSE . I aint saying its floppin around in the tracks but you put two fingers on the front edge and two fingers on the back edge of the sunroof glass (from the drivers or passenger side) and move the glass back and forth . is there suppose to be that much play in it like that ? I really believe this is the source of the noises I keep hearing . Also my wind deflector when the sunroof goes to FULL CLOSED position lets out one hell of a creekin noise by itself . ugh why do I have a feeling I am gonna be at the dealership over the sunroof TSB .
