Default turbo stock 1.5

Hi everyone I just got an xb about a month ago. I drove a turbo eclipse and I really miss the noise of course, so I am thinkin about boostin my xb. Has anyone done it yet and call you guys and gals give me suggestions on what to do. I have found some kits but I really want to know if anyone knows how the small motor handles the power cause I dont feel like blowing it or anything. Just reply please and let me know how yall feel about it. thanks :D :D

Check out Stafford Fabrication. They have one on an xB for about 8 months so far. They are still in the process of doing the dyno numbers

www.staffordfabrication.com or the links in my signiture. I own the stafford kit, and wow. It's definately worth it. I HIGHLY recommend this kit to a turbo enthusiast. I have some videos on my cardomain site but they're old, and not accurate. The dyno numbers should be here buy sept 20th or 21st. Stay tuned!

Turbotechnics is coming out with one that is supposedly going to push 100 more hp to the wheels. I was talking to them at NOPI this weekend about it. Not sure how realistid that is. I also saw the Blitz xb with their SC on it.

I will love to see that when it happens. 100 extra wheel horse power. That would be nice. I dont see it happening on stock internals, stock compression, & maybe even stock ignition. The internals might hold up but Im not to sure about that. Maybe running racing gas will compinsate for the compression ratio.

IIRC the safe amount is less then 10, I think the max stock was like 12-14 or some where around there. The way the engine is with a rear mounted header, & the small engine size, would = some killer turbo lag if they had a front mount cooler. Also IIRC the Greddy kit you need to buy something to tune the fuel curve for you because it does not come with a piggy back system. On another note, I have seen the Greddy kit cheaper then any blitz or PE kit.

so you think running around 10psi is safe for the internals as a daily driver with just a built on, no SAFC or any fuel system right

I think the xA guys get stuck with the Blitz S/C. Might be able to make a PE or Turbo kit work.

If I had a scion + a turbo I would only keep it down around 5-7psi for daily driving. 10psi nope, I live up around 5000ft so I dont think 10psi this high would be good with a 10.5:1CR unless I had better then 92 gas.

chucksu how much extra power do you think you get running 5-7 psi and do you think you need a fuel manage system of some sort

I think it would be like the blitz s/c at that bost range. So about 30whp. So at sea level you would get up to around 122hp or so. I cant recall the exact numbers but I think it was EL had there turbo up to something like 170whp before it went down hill. As for the fuel stuff im not sure. You would need to ask some one who has a turbo. I think you do need it though. If any thing it will help tune the fuel curve right & give you the most power for your money.

The turbotechnics system was going to be supposedly $4K I believe and come with all the piping, gaskets, intercooler, piggyback ecu, engine work... Supposedly everything that would need to be done...

EL Prototypes...145whp and 150'lbs at 9psi. You're never going to do that without fuel management and an s-afc doesn't count. EL runs the AEM unit so don't ever think you can run 12psi stock.

and secondly, don't listen to anyone on here unless they have the turbo kit on their car. If you read the threads, you'll know just as much as anyone else answering this. Goto the source
