Default ugh, danm paint!

Ok, so somehow my hood/fender area was hit by an unknown object.
This is what the area looks like:

Ok, so i know Toyota sells touch up paint, and i know this certain paint chip can result in rust. Will the touch up paint prevent rust, if not, what do you guys recommend i do? What steps should i take to take care of my babys skin?

Im depressed

Thanks guys!

Touch up will help prevent rust if you get it early enough, if not then gently sand the area with 800 grit sandpaper then touch up. You don't want the bare metal to come in contact with any other metalic surface or water, particularly salt water. If you get to it before then I'd say your ok

Wow !! To depress you even more , I will suggest that you either get a pro to look at it to see what he can do OR get a body shop to paint the hood and fix the indention . Painting would be the proper way to go as that is bad . the paint left around the area needs to be chipped off anyway . Too much area to fix with touch up paint to make it look good . I am sure that some of these guys in here will tell you it costs 10 , 000 dollars to paint a hood but , not here . That hood , stripped , primed , painted .....Maybe $ $350 to $ 450 . Irregardless , best to have that painted . Sorry about the damge man . That sucks !!!

take it too a body shop then, the estimates shouldn't be too bad.... definitely less than $400....
